One of my students asked me why an apple is given to the teacher, rather than any other type of fruit and I realized that I had no idea. I can't seem to find anything about it on the internet. Anyone out there have a clue?

Has anyone been taught abstinance as sex education, either in combination with being taught other schools of thought; or as the only edict? What was your reaction to the information?

I teach English as a foreign language to adults (part time) and want to get a professional degree to add to my resume and help me become more qualified. Has anyone here studies for this diploma before or knows any details about it? Any advice will help a lot. If you could also suggest other alternatives to it I'd really appreciate it. Thanks:-)

I've recently started college, again (long story), and I've enrolled in History courses for my own personal knowledge and recreation (history nut). I decided I would like to become a History Teacher, highschool level. I have a knack for presentation and kids and teens tend to look up to me (ok, maybe it's just my younger kid sister's friends). I know the route to get to the classroom, I would just like to know if it's quite difficult to land that position and in the coming years will it only grow to be more difficult?
