i'm in grade 11 and my english teacher resigned last week and suddenly the school asked ME to become a temporary substitute teacher for my class. starting next tuesday. english is not the first language in my country so when i said english lesson, i didnt mean like literature or anything like that, but i sould be giving lessons about tenses et cetera, et cetera. god knows i'm bad at it. and those students are my friends, for god's sake, and i know i'll feel strange teaching them. and they'll make fun of me for sure. i really don't know what i'm supposed to do. any advice? thanks, anyway :)

I tutor undergraduate students but I want to do it for free. I have reasons for that, for example to have more experience.
Now I hesitate to tutor girls for free since they might think I like them.
What can I do?

This is my first year teaching, and I'm with 3rd grade students who are low academically and socioeconomically. Teaching these students is very difficult, but I find the demands of the TAKS test, special services, pull-out schedules (library, science lab, peer tutoring, content mastery lab) to add to my enormous load. Aside, I have a teamed coworker who physically beats on me in various ways leaving bruises, emotionally abuses me constantly, and goes through my desk drawers. I have alerted my principal to this but he says she isn't going anywhere because her student's always have high TAKS scores.
Im miserable. I thought I wanted to be a teacher but I am absolutely miserable. Is the field of education like this every where? I need advice. Im pregnant now and I really need to cut down on my stress level.

I don't know about where you are...but I'm in Australia and to me it seems that these days they concentrate on the wrong things. I know so many young school age kids who don't know their times tables yet have been taught how to put a condom on. (Using a banana in class) I think this is just a bit wonky...what do you think?

I am in a liberal school. I have traveled the world with my family and have had experiences in which these professors express knowledgable opinions. In doing this , they are misleading other students and those students take this so called knowledge as fact. I have and can back up my positions with FACTS when asked why I disagree and rather than discuss it , these so called educators argue when the only backup they have is from other liars as themselves....why do universities allow a lie to be taught rather than a truth????? It is their reputation at stake.

I have several very narrowminded teachers that do not want to hear my side on issues. I have offered to bring newspapers from other countries as well as photos, videos) They are extremely liberal teachers/professors/lectureres - who have worked in controlled academic environments. I have traveled with my family throughout the world and my father has worked as a consultant and worked through wars delivering supplies to countries and he has been a consultant for movies. Yet, my teachers are not interested in details, (even when documented with newspapers or photos from those countries) How do I deal with this narrowminded group of educators. This is also turning my friends against me.

This was a complex relationship between Indians and settlers, therefore what children are thaught is not WHAT really happened. Is not teaching them to hate their birthplace, is to teach ;TRUTH.Is in history books ,that the tribe suspected the settlers of robbing Indian graves to steal food. Also is a good way to nurture critical thinking. We owe it to all of us to come out with the truth.
