you should be very focused in attaining your goals.
so if you have decided to become an IITian you should be very hard working, positive an optimistic.all your hard work starts after you finish class 10
once you are in class 11 you join some institute like Brilliant Tutorials,FIITJEE and similar good coachings.
they will send you monthly despatches which you should regularly study along with your schooling.

Well, first have a very-very strong conceptual-infrastructure. Science and maths should be ur strong hold. Try finishing you scool syllabus as follows:
9th std..by jan.
10th std..by end of apr.
11th std..by june
& 12th .. by nov.
Also along with completeing the syllabus try to solve quality problems of different nature.no use solving hundred problems of same type(eg.say u solve 100 probs on pyth.thm to calc hypt. wen other 2 sides of triangle are given ..whats the use? its just mechanical/donkey work right??).Make ur own note book to note all important formulae & concepts. Many guidance courses are available in market ..try to opt for a class-room course..usually in postal courses u usually tend to deviate and drag..u know try to postpone ur studies. But for notes yes i would like to suggest brilliant-tutorials,(visit their website for details..they give concession to scholars in fees!),also JPNP series is good..but its quite rigorous.
Also remember u can attemp iit-jee more than once.its a tough path.most of the guys tend to give up mid-way..thus neither performing in iit-jee nor 10/12. so never do such a thing.so an easier alt. is to first finish ur 12th take drp & then give iit-jee.
OFCOURSE in ur case as ur still in 9th u got lots of time in ur hand so no need to think negative..but start studying from right this moment..if u think u can then u CAN..
& yeah u can chk their syllabus(Phy,Chem,Math) on their website. try not to keep topics for options..bcos questions dont come on a single isolated topic..to answer any question u require a thorough knowledge of other related topics too..
