THIRD GRADE! They LOVE school, they want to please you, they still give hugs, and they are excited about learning! They are really at a point in their lives where you can make a difference and have a resounding impact, too. I remember my third grade teacher very well, and in asking around I found that that is mostly the year that people remember - in elementary school at least. I absolutely LOVE teaching third grade! Best of luck in making your choice!

IT is REALLY up to you-
Do you like little kids or older ones
Do you want to teach kids to add or teach calculus?
Do you want to teach the kids how to "be friends" or do you want to teach the kids about politics of the world????
I taught third grade for a long time and LOVED it! Kids in third grade are young enough to think that teachers are the "end all be all " ...you can still be silly and they will laugh, you can still give them a "teacher look" and they will "straighten up" BUT they are also old enough to work a little more independently so you can actually teach in small groups. Third grade is also a great year because it is around the time they change from learning to read to reading to learn.....
Clearly, lots of people here think third grade is great..... ME TOO!

I am a teacher myself. Right now I am in Middle school teaching 5th and 6th graders. I think that the best grade to teach depends on the person doing the teaching. I love my job, but would really enjoy a third grade classroom. I feel that children in this age group are more independent than previous grades, but still have an innocence about them. Once they hit the pre-teen stage they start searching for where they fit in. In the younger grades there isn't so many clicks and who is wearing what brand of clothing.
On the other hand Middle school to High school could be good for you to if you enjoy the flexibility and switching of classes. (Not having the same students all day). I am sure that whatever you choose will be what is right for you.
As for memorable teachers mine was a 1st grade teacher ( Mrs. Rhodes). She was so nice and sweet and always made me feel important.
Another teacher I think of often is my 7th grade English teacher. He always made us feel excited about learning and made each one of us feel important.
Maybe you could observe in a few classes and see how you feel??? Good luck on your search!

I remember my third grade and my 10th grade history teacher the most.
It all depends on what you like. Each level has its pros and cons. Elementary school teachers, though paid less, are more involved with the students and hardly get any time to themselves. Just remember when you were a kid, and seeing how exhausted and miserable, at times, your teacher could be. Then you have the highschool kids, remember highschool - that's all I can say. You must have a kack for learning. I love History and I'm hoping to become a History teacher; that's how I would like to make my mark on the world.

3rd and 4th grade are my favorites. At that age, the kids aren't so needy like the littler ones, but are also still pretty nice and cooperative and haven't developed the attitude yet. They usually still like their teacher and enjoy school.

7th and 8th grade because they are self sufficent and usually don't need you to wipe their nose or clean up after them. Of course, everyone is not cut out for Junior High but I LOVE working with them. You can joke around with them too and they are going to understand what you are saying. Also, the parents are alittle different because by junior high the parents of rotten students know their child is rotten so they don't come to the school everytime little Mary says that the teacher is picking on her. They are more responsible for their own behavior!

It really depends on who you relate to best. If you enjoy being like a parent to small children, lower elementary is great. If you like inquisitive kids who are always asking "why", go for middle school. If you want to help people figure out where they are going in life, high school is for you. Every age has its cons, though. In elementary, you find yourself cleaning up snot and vomit. In middle school, you're dealing with changing hormones, and in high school you often see the effects of substance abuse. You need to find what you like and go with that.

properly whilst i exchange into in 2d grade i began out gaining understanding of cursive. i'm enormously specific that as quickly as i exchange into in 0.33 grade i found out hassle-free multiplication. even perchance in 2d. including 2 digit numbers i in all hazard found out in 0.33 or maybe even fourth. it certainly relies upon on the college district. some colleges would start up coaching it until eventually now, some would coach it later than others. it certainly relies upon. desire this facilitates!

High School. I substitute taught in many schools and they were the best behaved. And you didn't have to hold their hand the whole time. They don't have to use the rest room all the time.
