present way of teaching is not wright. todays education is becoming burden to students. As a result they are getting mentally depressed and felling tension.competitions has grew a lot and they are working hardy.but results are not so good.in competitive exams they are not getting good rank. as a result they are committing suicide. corporate schools and collages are en cashing this situation by taking more fee. they are making students work 16hrs a day.even they are giving lot of home works.as a result students are not enjoying at age they have to enjoy.they are not even getting games period to play.this shows effect on students when they grow up . they get many diseases like diabetics,B.P,gastroenteritis etc.totally they are losing happiness in life and becoming machines in life

Personally, I hate present education. Teachers don't seem to care about students, students don't seem to care about learning.
No Uniforms=too many distractions. Students are too worried about looking good everyday, and teachers are too worried about nailing a student because they aren't following the dress code. No enthusiasm in classrooms, barely any homework. No points given for busy work, which I think helps out students.
I've always been an "A" student, but if it wasn't for my elementary & middle school teachers always suggesting to read ahead, and assigning homework (whether it would be writing down definitions to key words, or answering the questions at the beggining and end of the chapter), I wouldn't be an "A" student here in GA. I decided to assign myself homework, read ahead, and write down the definitons to bold/key words on my own. For a test review, I would do the questions. I found that it helped when it came to tests.
Speaking of tests, they aren't helpful at all. They are always multiple choice, and true or false. Barely any matching or essay & short answer, which I think are better because it makes the student actually learn the subject and not try to figure it out by eliminating answers. Plus, you can always get some points, instead of none at all. Students also rely too much on study guides.
I think teachers should care more, students should make an effort, and uniforms should be part of public schools, in order for education to be better. I also think that parents should do their job and ask their kids "how was school?, Do you have any homework? Did you learn anything new?" because I believe it makes an impact when parents act like they care. Teachers already have enough going on, and they shouldn't have to babysit and ask why didn't they do the homework all the time (if any is given).

I think education has come a long ways over the years; however, I feel that parents aren't doing enough at home to keep children focused on learning. We have enough people working at McDonalds as it is - we need more people with an education now!

education is a choice

I really don't want to complain about this again. I'll just say when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
