No specific college -- any university or degree granting college that offers a degree in education, with honors in elementary education will fill the bill. But you don't study for grade four. Your choices would be primary - which is usually grades 1-3, elementary, which is four to seven, or secondary, which is eight to twelve.

You need an undergrad in anything. I would recommend something like Math or Literature. Don't major in elementary education. That kind of boxes you in and you will find getting a job difficult. Be very picky about your grad program. Make sure it prepares you well. It's A buyers market right now in education so you need to have as many tools as you can or you will be like K Fed in that commercial.

Why do you may desire to choose between them? Is it no longer conceivable to do the two communications and midsection teenagers coaching, majoring in one and minoring in the different? you may desire to alter right into a undeniable ed instructor and do , say, examining, speech scientific care or powerful communications. You don'thave to teach Grade 4, yet you may desire to artwork with Grade 4 scholars. I had Englsih and ESL asn my subjects at college, and my interest as an English instructor became right into a lot easier simply by fact of my ESL historic past. lots of my scholars in English training have been from non-English backgrounds, so i became into waiting to assist them with 2 subjects on the comparable time. needless to say, I had lots of the non-English conversing studnets that different instructors had a puzzling time coaching. undergo in innovations that coaching is now a tough interest. you're answerable for each little thing, which contain alot of stuff that may not inspite of regards to coaching. Unfrotunately, coaching is now no longer a vocation; for many, it relatively is a job like the different. this is why I left after being in the lecture room for 32 years. See what the faculties you prefer to attend could supply, stable success regardless of you choose!

Bachelor's degree, + educational classes, teaching credential, and you probably have to pass a test, like the CBEST in California. Call it five years of college. You'll also have to take continuing classes periodically, as your state requires.
