I apologise to those who answered my half a question!! dont know what happened there!! To cut a long story short... I took my child to school a few minutes late, looking for a missing jumper....the jumper had been left at school. I was looking for the jumper and was approached by a woman I had never met before. This woman told me not to enter the class with my child (who is 5 years old) but to go to her office instead. I told her I needed to ask the form teacher a question, and she stated in an aggressive manner "do you know who I am? I am the head teacher". Because of her attitude I decided to ignore her and go with my little girl into the classroom to ask the teacher about the jumper. On leaving the class I was grabbed by the arm ) and told to go to her office. I did not have time to go to her office as I was on my way to work....so she shouted to me that she would exclude my child from the school!! I was then sent a letter the next day warning me about MY aggressive behaviour!

I'm going to be teaching high school biology and am wondering a few things.

What are some qualities your teacher had or activities they did to make them memorable? What was your favorite subject in school?

Thanks for answering! :)

I know that under California law, a CHSPE degree is equivalent to a high school diploma, but PTCB (test for pharmacy technicians) is availbale only for those who graduated from high school or passed GED. I don't know if they recognize CHSPE - California High School Proficiency Examination.Do you know anything about it?

Why is it okay for the United States to kill off thousands of Native American during Manifes Destiny? Or the My Lai Massare? And the protests of vietnam war was nothing. You almost never heard what the U.S did bad in history classes but you always hearing stuff like how Communism started the Cold War or anything that is not Democracy is evil.

today in class, we played a game to review for a quiz and at the end of the period the teacher asked who wanted to take the test tomorrow. she explained that if we took the test on friday, then tomorrow we would sit all period and do a bunch of boring review worksheets. but if we take it tomorrow, we could play a game on friday. so nearly everyone in the class raised their hand indicating that they were ready to take the test (including myself). so now we're taking the test tomorrow. the problem is, my friend is one of the people who did not raise their hand. she came over tonight and we tried to study but she got extremely frustrated that she couldnt get anything and also at out teacher. it was completely unfair for the teacher to determine whether or not we should take a quiz off of how many people were ready for it. and so my friend is afraid that she's going to fail it....

I teach ESL in a foreign country. As a native speaker, I have a strong intuitive grasp of English grammar, but I often find it difficult to explain grammar concepts to my students (or other teachers). Can someone recommend a website(s) that can aid me? Preferably, the site should be searchable (so, if I, for example, want to look up how to use "just" in a sentence, or want to research determiners, I can find the information easily). And I mean a website with information already available (in reference/tutorial form), not a website where I can post specific grammar questions (of which I already know a few).

I'm a Freshmen in high school. From day one I complained to my counselor almost everyday about my locker being able to open without a combination. They said they would get it fixed right away, but we have been in school for 7 weeks already! Teachers won't allow you to come in class with a bookbag so I had to leave most of my books in my locker. Today, someone broke into my locker (because the lock doesn't work) and took EVERYTHING. Now the school says I owe them over $300 in textbooks even though I told them the books were stolen and I never got a new locker.
