I live in a county that has very well founded, and are good schools in general.
In your expirience which is better?? When it comes to private schools, do you really get you moneys worth?
Or is it better to take your kids to public schools since they have great extra curriculum activities?? What do you think??

Events get cancelled because she drops the ball or it conflicts with her daughters' birthday party. (What a brilliant way to make sure kids are "available" for her daughters party!) The only communication is via a last minute email-generally less than a 4 day notice, vague and confusing. She's been the leader for 4 years now, and I'm afraid she might be the only choice for us at the school. Her daughter is always the top cookie seller--by a small margin, and of course nobody knows until after the orders are turned in. I think she makes sure her daughter has the highest total, and I bet the extras she buys (to get her daughter the winning prize), are the same boxes that the whole troop sells in the community when sales are over! She doesn't invite parents to any activities, unless we just show up. She's even had one of her friends', not a troop parent, help at the activities. A few of us parents are upset-what can we do?

My daughter did quite well in elementary school. But her grades have been dropping since aged 13. Tuition did not help much. What went wrong?

hi.... i had an after school detention last nite for 2 hours (3.30 til 5.30) for skipping class. The DT was in a classroom on the english floor and i had to write lines (which hurt my hand!) for the whole 2 hours! it was horrible i was the only person there in detention and i had to stay until 5.30!!!

I am in year 10 and go to school in england, my mum picked me up after the DT and she was not happy about me staying until 5.30...

do you think 2 hours after school wth writing lines is the correct punishment?

I am in the school library board. The school library's condition is not good. Books are mixed up, but i have taken care of that. the Problem is the design of the library is such that it is so congested. I need help for designing this place, but designers are out of my budget...also i need a program to process books so that we can have a record of reading materials we have. The old system crashed and has not been fixed for over 2 years. We need to really change the library but we need help and ideas...share your thoughts...

Mostly, the students in my 8th grade class is either 12 or 13 years old. But I don't understand; I even skipped one grade, but I am 14 years old. I came here in the US from the Philippines-I attended school there until 3rd grade...They would be suprised to know my age because I'm not really tall unlike my peers.

My question is, what's the "ideal age" for the grades in school (elementary, middle school, etc.)?

I have problems with maths, I am actually ok at maths, but I have problems registering symbols and numbers in exams sometimes. I also have a very low level of concentration in lessons, some of my teachers at school have noticed this. One said I could be dyslexic and take a test. Is this nessesary? My english writing and use of grammar is fine though. Is it possible to only be dyslexic with maths and numbers? please help :)
