I started a new school last year and still haven't properly gotten acquainted with everyone; however, I am so much more comfortable around my classmates and feel like I can say what I think more often than when I started. Here's what I did and what I think would help you: show them your interests (even though they may not like them, but, to this day, I receive compliments on how cool it is that I like different things), DO NOT make up things to have them like you, uniqueness is one of the most attractive traits in a person, also, try to help when asked, and show that you can be a good friend. I did this by not talking behind people's backs, listening to others when they needed it, and not judging anyone. I think people realized that they could trust me and, because of that, they too feel comfortable around me. Lastly, remember to show your classmates your good qualities...maybe you are a talented singer or musician, show them this and they will admire you for it. Just don't inhibit your personality and give it some time, things will work out in the end. And remember that, even if they don't (I'm sure this won't happen!), its only school...too many people make a fuss declaring eternal devotion to their "friends" and just end up graduating and never speaking again. So, I guess, my advice is to let things happen by themselves and to not worry too much about making friends, it will happen on its own.

Be yourself. Trying too hard can have a negative affect. Be helpful in any way that you can. Join clubs and extra-curricular activities. Where appropriate try to study with other students.

Be yourself and strike up a conversation with them. If you don't understand something in class, ask a person who you think seems really nice and willing to help.

Get involved in extracurricular activities and clubs. Those are the best two ways to meet people.

You can't MAKE people like you. Just be yourself and you will find people who like the same stuff you do. Join groups or clubs that interest you and you will meet people.

Don't try. Just be yourself and time will take care of the rest.
