I have heard that many school districts don't like to because then they have to pay you more. Is this true?

I was tardy for school 4 times in 1 month and i was given 3 days of in school suspension where we had to study and after school detention for 1hr - than after the 3 days they told me I had to go to detention and write 300 lines that i would not be tardy - and when i finish with the lines I would still be assigned detention where i have to write a 5 page essay on what i learned, and when i get done with the essay - I would have to complete another 3 days in detention - But the only problem is i was late another day and now i have to write 1000 lines i was tardy and been assigned detention for 15 whole days - Is this fair just for another day late.

the teacher told me to go to the office if i want to come back to class. But at that day i didnt go to the office because i had a school basketball game.THe principle knew i had a game.

When writing a five page essay, what exactly is a bibliography page? Is it the Work Cited page or something different?

Hi, I'm having trouble being motivated to do work. I can sit down at my computer, and not get distracted, but I just don't feel motivated to do anything, my mind goes blank sometimes.

How can I get more out of myself, how can I stimulate my mind and motivate?

Long story short... he is in the 10th grade. He has been missing alot of school this month because of some health issues and some surgery. Well, one of his teachers has been making comments to the other students at the school that my son is going to fail because he has not been to class much.
I would assume this is not legal!! but I can't find where to look online for the info for this... I was planning on going to the school board and making a complaint, but I wanted some real evidence that its not right for her to make these comments first... Do any of you know anything about this??? Thanks for your help!! I need this ASAP!!!!

Our daughter is in Kindergarten and has had 8 weeks now to learn all the school rules. The school uses a color change and stamp system. She is sent home each day with either a stamp when she has followed all the rules or a color depending on how many times she has been in toruble by not following a rule. One rule break is yellow, two is orange, three is blue, etc.... She comes home more often then not with a color change. Anytime we tell her she MUST come home with a stamp to attend an event she wants to go to or receive a gift she comes home with a stamp. We know she knows the rules and can adhere to them based on her coming home with a stamp when it is necessary. What form of discipline should we use when she comes home with color changes?? Should we "allow" one color change without taking any action?? She is 5 and therefore can understand the consequences. We want her to do better but are at a lose as to what to do. It just does not seem to be geting better.....but actually worse

My daughter's only 2 years old. But, we're moving to Florida and I keep hearing the school system there sucks. However, Magnet schools are better.

So, what are these? How are they better?

My son is currently in his second year of teaching and is preparing to pursue his degree in school administration. He has all level certification. However he has two young girls and I know assistant principals are overworked. Does anyone know if there is a notible difference in the after hours spent by an elementary principal, middle school or secondary? I know there are a lot of games with secondary. Anyways any suggestions would be helpful.

I just had to write 1000 lines for school which was "I will remember to bring my textbook to class and I will never forget to do my homework again." My hand hurts soooo bad it feels like its going to fall off. My fingers are aching while typing this.
If you got lines:
1. What is the most lines you had to write?
2. What line did you write?
3. Did you hand hurt after?
4. How did you relax your hand after because my hand feels like it won't be able to write for a week?
5. Did you learn anythin from it?
I did, dont do anything bad or my hand will by huritng for hours.

The Prussian school system was divided into a few different schools. Some would teach the kids how to think properly (the ones who would be the future leaders). Other schools would teach the kids how to somewhat think. However, the majority of schools would exist solely to teach the children to be obedient.

In the 1800s, all of the founders of "public" education in the United States copied this system straight from Prussia. This is why the inner city schools are so bad and why the suburban schools fail to teach children to think properly.

Why did the US adopt this awful system and the compulsory education laws that go with it?

I have spoken to his head of year( year 10) but I've found that it's a certain couple of teachers who are the problem. He has been "on report" countless times, allegedly to help him focus, but all we get is sarcastic, unhelpful comments from idiots who are completely missing the point and should know better. They critisise him constantly, so he shuts off, and no wonder, yet if I try and point this out, they all band together and it's he who is the problem. Is there anyone else who I can get help from to deal with this. He's really starting to struggle with his GCSE work and is getting behind.
