There should be no reason a child should be handling a weapon at all especially not at school. Just look at all the school shootings that have happened over the years because of disturbed children who wanted revenge on the people who tormented them. The schools should crack down on bullying and then kids would not feel the need to bring weapons to school in the first place.

I think we have seen what happens when guns are around with examples like Virginia tech or Columbine......Teens arent the best at thinking clearly when there emotional and to put weapons in there viscinity would be a very bad idea. Why would you need weapons if your there to get an education anyway. There will be no game to hunt on campus. And if guns arent on campus you dont need weapons for protection......

Hmmm, lets think about this Genius. Kids go into school and Joe Schmoe kisses Joe Blows gf. Joe Schmoe is a little unstable because he's a HORMONAL teenager. Joe Blow confronts him about it like a normal person and Joe Schmoe goes NUTS. Joe Schmoe pulls out a weapon and next thing you know Joe Blow only has one arm or one leg or one nut or something of that sort and maybe ends up being DEAD Joe Blow. So you see, kids having weapons in school is a NO BRAINER. They should not have them. Joe Schmoe and Joe Blow were not harmed in the recreation of stupid kids at school. First, they have rarely had any classes in gun safety. Not knowing how to use a weapon can be just as dangerous as using it for the wrong reasons. Second, their brains have not developed to the point where they can understand the consequences of their actions, not just "Oh, I could kill this guy" but "His mother would be really sad and I could go to jail for a long time." People of this age group tend to act on impulse without thinking first.

Weapons are dangerous. Kids get excited and threaten each other with whatever they may have. They bring in weapons for defense and then are used aggressively.

Depends what kind of weapons. Tasers yes, knives no unless its a Swiss Army Knife (short blade), or pepperspray. Since some of the weapons mentioned are for self defence.

Because school aged children are irresponsible, they are kids. if something happens, their emotions can get the best of them and they can make a very unwise decision that could end up changing their lives and the lives of others for the worse in one second.

simply for fear of life. I as a student do not feel comfortable knowing that im in a building where someone is liable to kill me, if you give them a weapon its like giving me and others a death sentence. They are actually trying to pass this law, where they arm the teachers...now idk about you but that sounds like a really scary idea.
