Hi there, I am a Hong Kong/Canadian Citizen. I can speak fluent Cantonese but my reading and writing is quite basic. Do you have any books and cds or work book that I can improve writing and reading?

Hi, i'm 14 years old, and last night I didn't get any sleep because of so much homework, I am really tired, and I have lots of homework today agai, i'm sure, so can you please make me a nice schedule so I can get some sleep and get my homework done?

Keep in mind i'm not a very fast worker.

Here will be my homework (didn't go to school yet, but I know some of the work):

*Make index cards for Italian, about 40
*Italian teacher coming to catch me up with work (surgery), will take about 1 1/2 hour
*Study passages and characters and themes and ideas of book I read for a test tomorrow
*The rest of the homework I will be getting tomorrow, you can judge how long it will take, I am in 9th grade, all honors classes
*Math Test, a little bit difficulty with certain problems, may take longer than usual to understand, may have to look up
*Have a half hour show
Most likely going to have a biology test in 2-5 days, which i'm a little lost on because the class is boring

I am a high school student, and i am in advanced classes. Throughout school i have found that i learn alot better and know much more by sitting in class and "watching intentivly" as compared to taking notes. i just sit in my desk and listen without a peice of paper on my desk, while everyone else is busy taking notes on everything the teacher says. Yet, i do much better then them and can recall content much faster(though sometimes not as accurate). Most of the time, they come to me for advice on the class! I am not asking if this is weird, even though i don't know anyone who does this, but i want to know if it is "normal" or posibly unique. And how is it possible that the guy with no notes does as well, and sometimes better then the guy with a notebook of pure notes? Also, i should mention that i usually don't study or review.

I swear, I've got yearbook-copy-block or something. I've spent the last hour staring at the computer, trying to think of something. Okay, well the senior class is very small, like 35 kids. We have had a new principal (so new rules) and a bunch of new teachers. But I can't think of much else to say!

So far I've got:

"2007-2008 was undeniably a remarkable year. There was a new principal, new rules, and new teachers … several new teachers. There was more excitement, more laughs, and more drama than ever."

If you can think of anything else to put besides "laughs", that would also be appreciated.

I also have some notes about maybe saying something like:

"big thinks come in small packages"
"these are our next doctors and lawyers, teachers and ??? .... "
"they're a close-knit family, friends forever"

But I can't think of any way to tie it all up together!! It doesn't have to be long, either Or if you know of a website to help get the brain juices flowing, I'd be grateful!

plagiarism is a big thing in school now because of the internet and I hear some highschools have it. I'm in highschool and I want to know how does this process work? Do they just type in the sentence in a program and it searches for possible website matchs or something or is this just a bull?

My daughter is doing a report for her Social Studies class. I have been on line for the last hour trying to find more info for her. She is not even around. Am I making it too easy for her by doing some research for her? She has been on line for the last several nights looking up her subject. I just feel like I can find things easier that she can. Is this wrong?????

I had a math teacher in Rivers Trail Jr High in My. Prospect Ill, that changed my life. I often think of him and what he did for me...he changed my life forever and I would give anything to thank him. Coming from a very abusive home he encouraged me in such a wonderful way...he was the first person to tell me that I was smart...he made me believe in me. My words could never fully explain what his giant foot print in my life did for me...but I would love the chance to tell him.

any suggestions

The teacher I hated the most was the one that took care of the 5th graders after school because our parents could not pick us up till later. She would yell at us for everything. She once yelled at me for eating my snack to slowly even though we were just going to play for the rest of the day. When we did our homework we had to move our desk to face the wall and if anybody said a word we would have to copy a page from the dictionary.
One day I decided to help my friend with his math homework. So just when I said (you have to) my teacher yelled at me and told me and my friend to copy a page from the dictionary but me and my friend ignored her and I continued to help her. The next punishment was to call home but we turned our home phones ring off. The next day we told everybody else what we did and they did it too. The teacher could not grade us any lower cause she was just taking care of us.

My son is being bullied at school. The school has cameras all around and it is still happening. They get a warning and are then isolated in school rather than be sent home for bad behaviour. I think they should have a photo of the bullies on the school notice board for all to see for the week, or make them wear a bright yellow vest saying idiot of the week all week and made to clean the yard at break times and lunch time. No one would want the humiliation of that would they? Would it work? Forget human rights, what about the victims' human rights?

I mean, most schools go for at least 8 hours a day, monday through friday, and then in our high school, there is at least 2 hours, AT LEAST, each night. Why do teachers load work on us after being in school for at 8 hours already?
