Some are, some aren't.

Many are accredited by the very same agency that accredits the high school in your town. Some are even run by that very same high school in your town (or the State Board of Education) using the very same teachers.

If it's regionally accredited, then it's more legitimate than those that are not.

Some are absolute diploma mills and should be avoided.
