I'm 17 and a 9th grade dropout. I've received a ged but didn't learn anything in the process.

If i went back to school i would be 21 by the time i graduated.

Are there any other options such as an alternative school?

I've been told to enroll in community college and just take remeadial classes but i don't feel they can help me with an 8th grade education.

Any suggestions. Please understand i've had an awful home situation leading to the decision to dropout. Now that i'm getting older and reality is setting in i'm worried to death.

I can't face working at mcdonalds the rest of my life.

I'm a smart guy, just had an unfortunate set of road blocks in my life.

Hello there.

I'm 16, and I'm looking for a job. I'm currently going to sixth form, and am in full time education ( 5 days a week).

I was wondering what my maximum amount of hours that I can work for are? Some people have said that its' 12 hours per week because I'm in school but some websites I've checked says that it's 20 hours per week.

They should teach students, how to survive in the real world, and the life lessons, instead of those stupid crap, that kids don't care about, who cares about what country was there in the 19th century, its over now, how to do the expression, (some stupid math problem) who f*ckin cares about that. I think the school should start teaching them that. How would they survive in the real world?

Hi I just wanted to know who easy it is to learn shorthand and how long it took you to learn it if you have learnt it? Also, if you could explain to me how to write it it would be most appreciated. Thankyou.

My male maths teacher at school asked me to talk to him after school today and I thought I was getting told off for somethink I did during class, so I sat down next to him and he started talking to me about how good I have been in class, and he put his hand on my leg and was rubbing up and down, I jumped up and run out of the class room and I went home. Should I tell someone about whats happened? because I have another class tomorrow morning with him, and i'm really scared!!
please help, who should I talk to?

thanks

why do we need to learn whats a a subject in a sentence is? do we classify the sentence that we will formulate at work? why do we need to learn the elements? do we say "please pass the hydrogen oxide near the sodium chloride?" why do we need to learn how to find the missing number in the problem x+1=2? do we need to find unknown numbers when we are at work? why do we need to study geography? do we talk about our history during work when we are at our lunch break? why do we need to take a class about foreign language don't we suppose to already know how to speak the international language (English).

there are ppl claim religious belief and wanting to send their kids to school with out being immunized. and in some towns run buy liberals an democrates and some of the moderate republicans but more the first too they are allowing these children to enter public school.

do you feel this is more a public heath issue then religion?

do you feel liberals are going to far to please every one at the expense of our childrens health?

do you think ppl use the "religious belief" as a sort of victim card so they get their way ?

How would you teachers feel if the student all of a sudden dropped out and you never were expecting it? Do you think you would call that student and beg them to come back?

I think it should, don't you? I mean, aren't weekends suppose to be a break from school! I do my homework, but I just don't like doing it over the weekend, where I want to relax for a while from school. All I want is to have no homework on weekends, only on school days. you know what I mean, kids have to do work in school for about 6 hours a day for five days a week, and then they get homework. And after a long five days of work , they are suppose to take a little break, that is what the weekends are for, but then there is homework that we have to do. I think it's a waste of time giving homework on weekends, people have things to do, you know. And if somone does poorly in class, they should stay after school or have do some extra credit stuff over the weekdays, but not the weekends. And it should be the parents and kids decision to do work over the weekend if they are not doing so well. So, am I right or am I wrong??? WHAT DO YOU THINK? DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE? WHY?

I used to be an overachiver: good grades, good conduct, perfect student, right?

Every year i look forward to school starting.
Well, this year was the first year that i was dreading going back to school because something didn't feel right about this year..
now i am failing 2 classes where one seems impossible to pass (algebra) because ever since kindergarden, mathematics have been the most frustrating thing in life. So now i have until december to pull those grades up, or else..

I'm a junior in high school with no job experience. I kind of need some for college resumes. I'm busy with school work and extra curricular activities after school so I can't say I'm available on my applications. My friends only work one or two days a week and I want to do that too. If I put I'm only available Friday after school and all day Saturday and Sundays, is my chance still slim for getting a job?
