As all people have their own agenda, (even the youngest child schemes) is it fair to impose on the school system that all should learn?
I liken it to the saying:
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.
I understand the desire to educate, but learning cannot be forced into a stubborn, rebellious mind.
When the basic control of a child is taken out of a teacher's hand, how can anyone think that the authority remains?
If a child cannot be disciplined (spankings etc...) he cannot be controlled. If he cannot be controlled, he cannot be taught.
Everything that a child is taught is FORCED uppon him:
What to eat, wear, when to go to bed, what words are inappropriate. etc...
A child that is taught, through actions of parents and others, that please and thank you are not needed, that listiening is optional, that abusive behavior is permitted, becomes an unteachable child. lowering standards to give the appearance of achievement only hurts the rest.
Your toughts?

My AP chemistry teacher made a huge mistake when recording one of my grades. When I really got a 15/20, she accidentally put it as 73/20. This raised my grade SIGNIFICANTLY. With the 73/20, my grade was 97%. But with the 15/20, my grade dropped to an 85%. I mean, if I hadn't told her, she would never have noticed, but me, being the moral, honest person I am...I actually went and told her, and now my grade dropped.
I mean, I guess I did the right thing. But what exactly would you have done?

What is a good get-your-wiggles-out but indoor-appropriate game to start our Brownie meeting with? Our meeting is right after school so the girls are restless. Unfortunately it is rainy so we can't go outside like I planned. So what is a good, relatively quiet but active game to get-the-wiggles-out so that we can settle down for an indoor meeting?

BTW - they are 1st graders.

On the first day of school, there was this new teacher at my school. She is my english teacher. On the day me and my classmates met her, she always looked at me the most. First she looked at me, then everyone else and then looked back at me. I looked down at my book, then i took a peak and she still kept looking at me! why is this?

OK... I have just been talking with my dad about how I hit someone today... And it lead into my end-of-year report. He said that if my report is bad. There will be big changes and he will be watching my grades closely!

It will be good for all the subjects except science and maths. Science especially, I never do any work because I hate the teacher and he never explains things properly.

I am going to get into a lot of trouble. I was thinking about editing it...

What do you think I should do??
