Would colleges take it into consideration?
I'd greatly appreciate input.

I got a long answer to one of my questions. The person said he had graduated from high school, yet his spelling was terrible as was his grammar and the answer was one whole paragraph without any punctuation at all.
He spelled school "skool" and used "in" everytime he meant "and".
I can't believe they let this guy graduate, although he said he was 46 so it must have been almost 30 years ago.
Have school standards gotten any better?

I live about one mile from here. http://blogs.chron.com/schoolzone/2007/03/a_new_kind_of_white_flight_1.html

I plan to retire from my current job in 2 years. In preparation for my next career, I substitute teach once every two weeks in Houston's school district. All schools that I have ever subbed at were 75% or more, minority. Any white kid is often the only one in the class.

Most of the white kids attending a Houston public school have a beaten down look about them. Although they may be above the curve in their school, they are subpar if they were attending a school in my area. They are taught that their race is evil. The boys are picked on by minority kids who are bigger and older because they failed a grade or two. The girls are being taught to mimic the self destructive behavior that too many minority girls engage in. Later in life, these kids will feel like outsiders if they find themselves with middle class whites. Ironically, I'm able to get ALL kids to do their work.

In particular, I am referring to Dulce et Decorum Est

http://www.warpoetry.co.uk/owen1.html

read the poem and let me know please. I am not going to teach it, but I am proposing in an assignment that I am presenting next week that I would teach it.

I am torn between concern for scaring children and of the importance of them understanding the harsh reality of war.

my friend cheated on a test at his PRIVATE SCHOOL. His teacher found out and said "I understand that you did not have a lot of time to study because you were sick and can take it again on Tuesday" then she said "Of course I will change the questions so just study over the weekend." She said this in a kind of weird way. Now my friend is freaked out that she might tell the principal and he could get in trouble. HIS PARENTS WOULD KILL HIM!!! (not really) Do u think she will get him in trouble.

My 6 year old stepdaughter has recently started 1st grade. She did really well in Kindergarten. She made good grades, and behaved very well. This year she has been constantly getting into trouble. She has cheated on a test, she has had to "pull a card" at least once a week. She throws huge tempertantrums in the middle of class, and had to go to the principal's office lastweek. What happened to her? Is this just a phase? She has everything in the world a kid could ask for. She has toys, clothes, she gets a lot of attention. I can't think of any reason why this would start all of a sudden.

Anyway, what were you like preparing for a test and how well did you do, I mean like a end of topic test or something.

I am currently a High School junior. I am taking two demanding AP classes that, in effect, required me to drop my French III class. Now, in order to not forget the language, I'm looking for an effective and preferrably quick way to absorb the equivalent of a French III course on an Honors level or an otherwise reputable French education.

My mom says that if i get all A's, she'll get me Xbox360 or Ps3. My GPA right is around 3.4. I'm in 10 grade and i take only one honors class. The rest are college/academic classes except for my math class which is stupid easy.
