It's not illegal and it'll cut down on the illegal groping and Barclays banking that sometimes takes place at that age ! ! !

In most places it is legal and it is being done more and more all the time. Many cities also are covering the complete city with cameras and can watch any place they would like to watch at any time. Many schools now have recording devices in the class rooms so if there is any problems they can look at the video and see just what happened. It is very difficult to be where there is not cameras ready to watch you at any moment. Cell phones are every place and people do use them when something happens that gets their attention.

Where are you living?? Privacy has been gone for a long time.

Yet another site for the CCTV. The school obviously believes that it is necessary so there is not a great deal you can do about it. Perhaps you are an unruly bunch that needs watching. Why not ask the head about it and the reasons why he thinks it necessary. There are camera everywhere these days, buses, taxis, trains etc. It is a shame that as a society we have become so violent or dishonest as to make such measures a necessary part of our life

Its a public setting, and payed for by taxpayers.

As such, the taxpayers have a right to know what goes on in there.

With the almost weekly stories of teachers sexually abusing their students, and other tales of kids having sex with one another in empty classrooms, these cameras are probably a necessity.

I'm not aware of any reason it wouldn't be legal. They put them in offices, stores, daycares and more, for security purposes. There is no anticipation of privacy in a school setting, short of the locker room and bathroom, both of which could not have a camera.

if they are 16 to 18 year olds all you need is the pupils consent, any younger you will need the parants consent, make sure that whatever you do you dont film anything that can be missinterprated as something sinister, and make sure that the headmaster is aware of your intentions and keep him involved at all levels and dont film anything without the presence of at least a teacher

I've read where more and more schools were going to start placing camera's in classrooms, so I don't think it's illegal. You would want to confirm with your schools administration.

They used to have them on my school bus but it can't be a hidden camera I'm sure. It has to be marked and all students need to be aware of it.

It may be legal. But mosty depends on the school authorities. If they find it 'useful' then ur luky dude...But i doubt it.. considering the fact that cellphones are banned n schools....a far stretched quest.
