Primary & Secondary Education - November 2007

Schools separated by gender, what would be the result of such changes in our nations schools? Would this help children learn better? Would this help focus students in schools instead of friends?

i'm having a really bad time keeping up with all this coursework i keep getting - i even bunked off school today to try and catch up but it only made me feel worse about it.

If they want to tackle obesity then children need to be educated about nutrition and how to cook (a fast dying art with all the ready meals that are now available).
What do you think - teach cooking at school?

I'm a teacher in an international school in Thailand and have given the unenviable task of organising this year's Key Stage 2 (7-11) performance. It's not until May but would like to get going. I'm thinking of running an after-school club for the main cast (8-15 kids) and then using everyone else for singing bits. Any suggestions?

OK, sorry im always stuck on my practise exam, i need some help.
Here's the question:
For the rule p= m/6 + 7 find 'p' by substituting m = 20.4
The answer is 10.4.
How does that occur.
Im doing year7 maths. (algebra and equations)

Her teacher wanted her to know at once to zip up her jacket.That my daughter must ask this teacher .Can you please help. the problem is my daughter is already scared to ask her teacher because she's a shy girl. It's been 2 weeks that the kids are wearing jackets. It's not only my daughter some other kids too. what should I do to prevent this situation.I've talked to her and she won't listen to me coz she said she just want my daughter to learn.

I'm only one of a few leaving this year to go to either a Course or a different school,, aND I HATED the last 2 years of school so much! But now that i've left i feel really bad and can only rember the good times! Is it normal to feel like this?

hay im dislexic so i find skool really hard cuz i cnt take part in da lessions cuz i cant remember the questions some times and i get imparrest when i have to read out cuz i miss out lines and my teachers always imparrise me and try and read it out with me to help bt it doesnt last week a new girl had a go at me cuz she chose me to read something out for my grouup and she sayed i messed it out and said im 14 so i should be able to read i just dont think i fit into my school cuz my mates try and cheer me up by saying it could be worst but i dont think it can what shell i do i havent actally talked with me mum cuz she says im lucky to go to that school so i cant really complain but i feel like im the thickest person there

So I dropped out of high school few days ago because of low income problems and I have to work on a job to get some money for family and also because high school was so full of problems for me. I probably would of dropped out of high school if I had not be forced to go to a boarding school. Regardless, why do parents send their troubled kids to boarding school? About 85% of the students at the boarding school I was attending were incredibly misguided, troubled and wealthy. The average kid at the school probably was failing most of his subjects. The boarding school did not seem to stop most of the kids from being criminals and failures. When most of the kids leave they will be the same or worse. I think most parents send their troubled kids to boarding schools because they are wealthy and do not want to help their own kid.

She was the best teacher I have ever had. I almost became a teacher because of her. I am currently in med school but plan to teach as well, all because of what a great influence she had on me, even though it was so long ago. I found out she retired, and haven't been able to get ahold of her to even send her a card or something. Anybody know what I could/should do to contact her? I just want to give her the biggest thank you ever!
