Normally 17 year olds are either juniors (probably with an early birthday) or seniors (going on 18 years old)
I'd say 17 is a little old for 10th grade!

Some people are just turning 16 in 10th grade. So you're just about a year above the average. I wouldn't worry!! Some kids are a year or two behind or ahead of their class depending on when they started school as a child.

Well, I'm in 10th grade and I'm nowhere near 17... so I'd say that you're too old for 10th grade.
I think you'd fit in with the seniors though...

I guess it not matter if that where they put you. I would think 11th?
May be some proficiency test you can take to move into the 11th.
