the education curriculum has been dumbed down due to all sorts of fads and new ideas. Schools are more concerned with self esteem of students then imparting knowledge. Nobody wants a student to fail a test because they might feel upset or dejected.

that's a generalization because some high schools do prepare students for college and do so very well. the readiness of students for college depends on the quality of education they've recieved beforehand ( i.e. a 5A school would much better prepare a student for a four year college than a 3A school. )

they DO. YOU have to make the effort to. this means talking with your teachers about where you need to improve and taking as many college prep courses that you can.talk to them about scholarships. and it never hurts to improve your study habits, get your grades up and read as many books as you can on that college reading list.
