Just because you made a bad decision, doesn't make you a bad person. You'll probably make a better decision next time. Then you can thank yourself for having learned something that will help you all the way through life.
The kid with the knife showed that he was willing to break the law, by carrying a weapon potentially harmful to others.
You showed that you were also willing to break the law, but by harming property belonging to others. Although what you did resulted in more actual harm, it was to property and not to persons, so you don't deserve to pay the higher penalty.
Here's a good quote to think of when you want to do something that might end up in getting you into trouble if you get caught:
"If you can't do the time; don't do the crime."
(Just stop thinking about doing it, and start thinking about something you CAN do.)
Good luck, you'll be fine. If people razz you, just tell them you learned something the hard way from that experience and that you wouldn't recommend it to them. Then you can laugh in relief, because nothing they say can hurt you, you managed to do that without any help. Chuckle.

The punishment should fit the crime based on the circumstances of the situation.
When you wrote on the walls, you actively chose to damage your school's property in a very visible way, when you knew it was wrong and hurt others. I don't know how extensive the writing was, but suspension is appropriate. The principal decides how long. I'm surprised the Principal didn't have you clean it up too.
Regarding the guy with the knife, I obvious don't know what the guy was thinking when he brought a knife. Did his mother pack it for him for lunch or did he bring it to threaten someone else? Or what kind of a knife it was (was it a little knife, a boy scout penknife, butcher knife?) The scope of punishment should fit the crime. My guess is that the Principal factored these into the guy's situation.
Perhaps you can stop thinking if the consequence was fair and think about the effect of your actions on others to make a better decision next time.
Good luck!

It was a good move on the part of the school. Hopefully, you will learn your lesson. If not, look for worse punishment than that when you get into the real world.
**EDIT**
btw, When students write on the wall, that usually means an already overworked janitor will have to stay extra late washing and repainting the walls. Somebody has to pay. And you ONLY got a 3-day suspension.

Getting suspended for three days is a bit extreme but you shouldn't have been writing on the walls in the first place. Find another hobby. When you write on the walls, it's not you that has to clean it up but the janitor (I think) and it's your school that has to waste money.

You know it cost the schools money to wash all your graffiti off the walls. It might seem like an unfair punishment, but you still deserve it, sorry honey, but when I go to the bathroom the last thing I want to see is other people little scribbles, writing and gang signs. Girls bathrooms are dirty enough without people making them worse. Learn from this.

I think you shouldn't have been writing on the walls. Show some respect! Are you really this immature of a person? Learn a lesson from this and grow up!

i've got in straightforward terms had one touch get suspended. After some day hesitation I deleted the previous one. He used a similar avatar on his new account, so there became relatively no reason to maintain it.

i think you should have gotten 3 days after-school suspension. do you have that at you school. wait that's detention. We also had in-school suspension where you had to come to school and do work in a seperate classroom.
I'm not promoting vandalzing the school, but i agree with you, out of school suspension should be reserved for kids that are dangerous. i bet you live in a rich vlassy town.

well you shouldn't have written on the walls but i think 3 days is too much. maybe one or two...unless you really screwed up and wrote something bad on it. If it was like I love bob it would be ok

You deserve every minute of it. I would have made you scrub the wall with a toothbrush. I hope your parents make the days at home as unpleasant as possible.
