My favorite teachers had several things in common:
sense of humor
fair
consistent expectations
organized
believed in every student
Some of my favorite activities were taking something boring and putting a twist on them. My English teacher in High School would take all of the Latin and Greek routes we had to learn and create incredibly goofy paragraphs that we had to translate.

My favorite subject has always been math, because personally, I've always been the kind who just takes out the textbook and works. But, of course, depending upon what subject you're teaching (or going to be teaching) you may not want to have a work-out-of-the-book kind of class. Make your class interesting, fun. Have the class do activities, and other things that they can relate to. Make the kids in the class look foreword to going to your class. If you teach language arts and your class just read a book, why don't you watch a movie based on the book (If there is one)?
The period you teach also plays a big role... If you teach an earlier period, have the class do something to wake them up. If you're later in the day, the kids will need to unwind... Have some scheduled free time (not too much, though) just so the children won't be too hyper or anything.
Hope that helped. ;)

Everyone in my science class can't wait for the biology unit. Since I'm in middle school, you'll probably stop reading right now. Last year, in the biology unit, I really liked it, because for one thing I'm really into science and stuff (everything but physics!). I liked it because there were a lot of group projects and even though I didn't choose my partners, I made a lot of friends. So I would suggest trying to get the class to work together as a group, and to have fun! I really liked biology last year, and I really can't wait for it this year.

Favorite subject. Biology. Favorite teacher, Biology. What make it so interesting, how all forms of life evolved all these neat ways of looking and acting to survive and prosper. I especially like insect, the the moths with eye spots to scare off birds; or the monarch/viceroy taste test. The ways insects look like the plants they visit. I am still fascinated by new adaptations every day.

My bio teacher was kinda goofy, but really really nice. His classroom was always open for extra help if needed and he did fun things...He was a chemistry teacher too and in his class I remember making popcorn in the combustion chamber and fireworks....it was a fun way to learn. Very hands on. I had a bio teacher in another grade that was totally into bio and made a lot of jokes...mostly bad ones, but you couldn't help but catch the passion from him. He was an excellent teacher. He gave us a test every week. We knew it was coming, so everyone prepared and paid careful attention to his lectures. Another favorite was my Latin teacher. We did a lot of reading in Latin of course during the class and discussion. we also formed two teams within the class and competed against each other for extra credit points. It was totally knowledge based.....mythology, Latin phrases, etc. The more we got to participate, the more fun it was. Good luck. I hope you get nice students!

Everyone has unique and man or woman reviews, so for each and every opinion there's a minimum of one million individual on the planet with the reverse opinion. Therefore, it's unimaginable for everybody to be mistaken. Everyone is mistaken at a few factor of their existence although, if thats what you supposed. You're being very indistinct. If you are simply looking to sound profound then I endorse you're employed on that a few extra.

Being friendly and getting to know your students personally helps alot. Sometimes it's hard to give each individual attention, but it helps. One of my teachers told jokes like crazy and he was really funny, nothing rude or vulgar but he was silly and make learning entertaining. He played music during certain parts of class time, like when it was time to do some writing he would play classical or soft music,he was great.
Be thoro with your work go over it so that everyone understands it. Keep your students wanting to learn, never let the curriculum teach your students, use your methods to teach the curriculum and always try to end your day with a smile. Students enjoy teachers who are able to keep a smile even when they are angry. It's hard to work with high school students because at times you have one or two class clowns but focus on enjoying what you teach. Give every student a chance to have their input as well,it helps you grow as a teacher, sometimes students have great ideas that will help you teach your class. Try to change it up,don't constantly read from the text book this is what I mean by the curriculum teaching the students, you have to have your own ideas and methods to get the curriculum to the students so they understand and enjoy what they are learning. Try to make time for students at the end of the day when you can,it's hard when there are different classes to keep up with but work some kind of study group out,so you can help certain individuals who need the extra help. These are the students who will remember you the most, the ones who needed the help and you were there for them. Be positive and upbeat, show the students your enjoying your work. Let them see you have extreme love and interest in what you do and teach. Don't let anyone get you down...at the end of the day love what you do,because the students at times will get you down and others will make your day. Show the kids your enthusiastic and are happy to be there, let your environment even if just for those short moments you have them,be an environment they enjoy even if biology is not their favorite subject. Keep them interested,go into details at times, give t hem stories about why you went into what you did,let them see what you found so interesting, keep the class interactive not just, book work ,writing stuff on the board and them copying it.Ask questions, keep them awake let them know you want them to learn. Always reward students with words of encouragement, even high school students need that. They need to know they are doing something well,"Good Job" "Your work is great" anything that lets them see that you notice their work. Care about your students obviously at student teacher level but let them know your their to help them and make biology more fun then it may sound at times.
