Well there is 3 houses.
Can someone please explain to me the point of a "house"

my highschool has 3 houses as well. the way mine works is that A-F is one house. G-M is the second and N-Z is the third(by last name). each house has a dean who is responsible for punishment and other stuff within their house. the principal overlooks everything.

Maybe you'll get to be friends with the people in your house, and have competitions with the other houses.

Probably to keep you all out of the same classes, which would overflow the amount of kids. Sounds similar to HP...
