My dad is telling me to take Latin...but Latin seems boring to me. I feel like taking German though.
Here's the thing...supposedly Latin is good if I want to go to an Ivy League School or any good college...which I do.
Though I don't want to be in medicine or anything like that where Latin is used.
I want to take German because supposedly it is good with careers in technology-I'm not certain on what I want to be, but some ideas are sound engineering, graphic design, anything big in technology, or journalism.
I'm also of German/Austrian decent

So help!? Which should I take? German or Latin?
Which is better for my future?

I need some ideas for my students that don't turn in homework. I teach 1st - 6th SDC Special Ed. What kind of incentives and/or penalties can I use in the classroom to get them to turn in their homework? Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Obviously colleges like students who take challenging classes, but is it truly best to take a full course load during senior year?

We are in middle school and we think we sould be forced to take the four major subjects for 40 minutes each day. Then if you want you can take art gym and others after school. we are all really angery that we have to spend half our day at school!

For one of my college apps, I have to write an essay about an issue of public concern and I chose to write about artificial sweetenrs. The references are still not edited yet.
Can anyone help me read it over and give me any suggestions on how to improve it or make it sound less dull?

After he tried to snatch his i.d. off his neck twice, he shoved my 9th grader. Then after my son shoved him back, the teacher balled his fist up, my son said "you hit me I will f*** you up", then went straight to the vp's office and told them what happened. We tried to get him out before, and they told us no. Teacher has been harrassing him since this school year started.

A student once asked a dean how being suspended for 5 days was going to help him, The dean told the student that the institution wasn’t designed to help him. Wow, the institution isn’t designed to help students. What?! Why on earth would we have an authorized system in our schools that functions AGAINST the productivity and education of our youth? There must be a better way.

Ok, I go to this new school. And last year I was in this group for something advanced that they were going to choose me from for next year. Since I moved, I didn't get invited to the advanced prgram. (If I were in my old school, I would have been invited.) I'm not in advanced math, so anyways, yesterday I went to my counsler and was talking to him about something. All of a sudden, he brings up my grades. He's like "How are your grades?" I'm like "They're good, I make the honor roll". I get 3.3 or higher. He looks at them and he's like "They're okay."

So, then today, I asked him for an application for that advanced program. He's like, "Are you in advanced math?" I'm like "No, I have her 5th period" He's like, "Only the advanced math kids got invited. I don't think you're going to make it. I'll give you an application, but you're chances are low".

What should I do? I feel sooo ostupid!!! I want to be in it, but since he told me he doesn't think I'm going to make it, I'm not sure.
