i teach freshmen

mainly, they face things like trying to fit into the "high school scene" which generally involves finding a set/group of friends to hang out with (and sometimes they make bad choices)

balancing a very demanding workload is HUGE

being given a lot more responsibility is hard on a lot of my freshmen. Parents expect more out of you, teachers do too. You might have 5 or 6 classes per day and EVERY single one has homework that night. How do you get it all done?

it's hard for the first 6-8 weeks, until they get adjusted.

When I entered 9th grade, my main problems was getting lost and the large increase in work. Other than that, it's pretty much just like middle school.
