Why are over 75% of the questions and answers posed in Yahoo! Questions riddled with spelling, grammar, and syntax errors? Is this the sad state of our educational system? These entries indicate to me that our young people are incapable of effective written communication. It's no wonder we have trouble communicating with other cultures when we can't even use our own language properly.

I feard to face my son's school teachers that my son making number of complaints everyday and loosing his interest in studies. One of his teacher has very much fond with him, transfered from the school and now he has no support from school. Due to his own mistakes I am unable to face the class teacher. How can I overcome this problem.

duct points for poor grammar and/or spelling nor does she correct a student in class. It is not because she is a social studies teacher it is because the student shouldn't be embarressed in front of classmates. With an attitude like this it's no wonder scores on SAT's are so poor. Not too mention being educated enough to complete an application for a job or knowing how to express themselves. What do you think about this attitude which she shares with other teachers?

My son has missed a lot of school because he has been in and out of the hospital. I was told the school has to make accomodations, and that it is something called a 503. I am in Ohio. Would you please helpme find info about it? Thank you!

today, i heard that seward park h.s was a jail before it became a school. and that there are jail cells in the basement.. and 2 chineses girls commited suicided in the roof. is this all true?? if it is, can you please provide information, because i would really like to know. the person who has the best information, gets voted for whatever to get points.

i am in my senior year and know that high school is just not for me. I know of the chspe and want to take that and move on with my life to community college. I feel like i am wasteing a year of my life sitting through high school. I won't be 18 until may, can i somehow stop going to school, work and take the chspe whenever the next test date legally? i know you are required to attend school until your 18 in california, but i really dont think i can do it.

Does anyone have a child that goes to a same sex school? If they are at a all boys school, Do they still get teased for not being as masculine? I would like some feed back from parents who chose to put their children in all boy or all girls schools? reasons why or gender problems they still encure? Thanks

I am in a middle school building (grades 5-7). This past Friday we had a student set a bathroom trash can on fire. Whether she did it on purpose or accidentally, we aren't too sure. What we do know is that she was smoking and bragged about doing it.

What my question is...is the punishment (being suspended for a week) a viable one? Should she have been expelled? What do you think about this one....
