Primary & Secondary Education - October 2006

I went to Our Lady of the Valley School in Orange, NJ. I had a principal named Brother Rick. He was so awesome! He turned my whole thinking of education around! I went to see him at the school, but the school is now closed. Would anyone who went to that school know where I could find him??

he does know them but I think that is why he is having problem with spelling and reading....any idea?

One day back when I was in High School ('99) my friends mom told us something really gross. She told us that when she went to my friends younger brothers PTO open house that the teacher told the parents that girls were wearing skirts and they would sit in the seats with their legs spread open with out any panties on. The teacher told the parents he was a married man and that he had to always look up at the ceiling when the girls did that.

If you are a teacher, were a teacher, plan on being a teacher in the near future, what would you do in that situation? I would mainly expect answers from males, but you can add your 2 cents in if you want if you are a female teacher.

If you are a parent what would do if you found out your daughter was doing that in school?

My mom is looking for a house in 2 diffent school districts. First let me day im not judging anyone, well the one school district is almost all preps and has a good graduation rate and im a tomboy. The other school district has a lack of education and they are more focused on sports. I fit in to neither one of theese. I am a quiet person and i dont talk that much unless I have to. Im home schooled right now because i dont fit into the schools where we are living now. Im just confused and worried.... Any advice or anything at all? thank you and thanks for awnsering

i have to go to thailand for 4mths . i only found out 4 days ago . i couldnt contact the school as it was half term , we have to leave early tomorow morning so i have had to write a letter to the school asking them to email me what work his form will be doing during this time . is it ok to do this ? .

I recently heard that coursework is going to be scrapped all together and was wondering if this is true. I wont be very happy if they take all the coursework out because you never know how you're going to perform on the day, and unlike alot of people i would never cheat on my coursework- whats the point? You'll get a grade that you dont really deserve.

My 13 year old son has suddenly lost all interest in reading. He is a gifted student who has always enjoyed reading until this year. He recently read the Hunckback of Notre Dame and did not enjoy it.
