I am not a very bright student. I try really hard to make my parents and myself proud. I study hard. But in the exam hall, all that I have studied is gone. I have been like this since 3rd grade. I am lucky I am not held back from going to the next class. The only subject I pass in is English and Mathematics. My parents have kept tutors for me, but it still isn't helping a lot. Lately, I have been personally thinking of going to the doctor because of my memory loss. I am in a critical condition and I do not know what to choose. I have asked various tutors, school teachers and adults. They all give me the same suggestion: that I should study harder. What do I do?

Education provides you with knowledge, I know. But let me ask you, did it really help you when you learned when Abarham Lincoln was born or who invented the bicycle? I was reading a book in my english class called Fareignheit 451and in it the society burns books which it feels makes them sad. Now books provide us with education don't they, so we should use them, right? Maybe? Education isn't all important is it? I'm sure all of you have gone to a class which you thought was useless. But is it really? Think about it... I'm not sure exactly if school really does help prepare kids for life. It sure does cram facts into our brain though.

I am absolutely TERRIFIED of what I’m gonna have to do in half an hour… I have to go to Japanese school. Now, I AM Japanese, but I’ve been living here for over ten years, and I like English WAY better than Japanese… I’m terrified because this Japanese school is really weird, and they have all their grades in once class, like those schools in colonial times… except not as primitive. NOW, what terfifies me is the fact that I really don’t get Japanese, so I’ll be really humiliated in Japanese class as well as math.. because I’m not good at either of them, but what’s the WORST thing is that the whole class is made up of people older than me. High-schoolers, about six yrs older than me, and all but one of them are guys. I don’t have anything against guys, but the teacher is a guy too… and the class only has about three people in each period… THREE PEOPLE! I’m scared of being humiliated… I don’t think you guys are gonna understand how I’m feeling, cuz you guys have probably never faced this

I need advice. I am extremely bored of school, and I find many of the activities my class does to be pointless. It does not help me learn or reinforce anything. I can just read the book at home and understand it. I don't like all the "busy work" I have to do. My grades go down because I don't like doing it. I only like a few classes and that is English and French. I like English since it is a higher level, and I like how it is not too structured and lets me think about my interests. I like French because my teacher is funny, and I like to practice it. What should I do about my situation? I feel like almost every class is monotonous, and I wish I could go to school just to take the test. I rather just stay at home and read.

Hello, I am a child care provider in NY. I run a child care provider support group that provides training. I am putting together a training on the importance of child play and was looking forward to more ideas to put into the workshop. If anyone has any ideas, or if you have done a training like this one, I would love more input. Thanks

Ok, if my unweighted gpa is 3.067 and my weighted is 3.80 and, if I still have to a year and a half of school left, how high can I get it to go assuming I get like A's in all my classes. (6 class periods, half are Ap). I just want to know if I can get it above a 4.2 unweighted and if dual enrollment classes can help it. Thanks!

One day, during recess, I had to take a crap. Unfortunately, all the stalls were full in the boys restroom, so I pinched a loaf in the urinal, as I didn't want to miss much recess. Sometime later, out school counselor found the offending loaf in the urinal, and he has been trying to find out who it is that did it.

Thus far, he's visited every classroom, addressing the boys in class to fess up to the offense. He's made announcements on the school's PA system. He's even confronted students in the halls, asking how they'd like it if someone broke into their house and laid a big ol' mud monkey on their mother's face.

It's getting out of hand. How do we get him to stop?
