I am absolutely TERRIFIED of what I’m gonna have to do in half an hour… I have to go to Japanese school. Now, I AM Japanese, but I’ve been living here for over ten years, and I like English WAY better than Japanese… I’m terrified because this Japanese school is really weird, and they have all their grades in once class, like those schools in colonial times… except not as primitive. NOW, what terfifies me is the fact that I really don’t get Japanese, so I’ll be really humiliated in Japanese class as well as math.. because I’m not good at either of them, but what’s the WORST thing is that the whole class is made up of people older than me. High-schoolers, about six yrs older than me, and all but one of them are guys. I don’t have anything against guys, but the teacher is a guy too… and the class only has about three people in each period… THREE PEOPLE! I’m scared of being humiliated… I don’t think you guys are gonna understand how I’m feeling, cuz you guys have probably never faced this

I can truly understand how frightened you are. I've grown up in US all my life. My father used to move around a lot because of his job, so I would always go to a new school where ever we moved, and it was very scary! But, I got along OK and after awhile I actually liked the schools, the teachers and even some of the kids. Try to think positive and just be yourself. You'll do fine. Good Luck!

The other people in the class are just as terrified as you. Thay are so worried about their own grades that they do not notice if you do well or not.

When you get older, you will be glad that you learned another language.

I know it may be intimidating, but you will be happy about it later in life. Learning about Japanese language and culture can only benefit you.
