How do I exceed in my math class?
Well, you know what? I mean, is it really my fault?
Ok listen, whenever there is a test or quiz, you're suppose to have the whole hour to do it. Correct?! (That's what the rest of my teachers do!)

But she is just sooo freaking bad as a freaking teacher!
Whenever there is a test or quiz, she'll go over the homework. When she finished explaing bellwork (which takes FOREVER by the way) she starts to explain the homework for the other night. Which also takes forever!

So, when she's done explaing we'll have about 10 monutes to do or quiz or test. I mean, that's NOT ENOUGH TIME! I'M GOING CRAZY!!! She's making me fail!!!!
And on my report card, she's like I show low test skills and all that, IF YOU DON'T WANT ME TO HAVE LOW TEST SKILLS THEN GIVE ME THE WHOLE HOUR!
I mean, is it really my fault? What do I do?I usually get a C in her class. What do I do?!?!?!?!??? Is it my fault?

My step-daughter is in 4th grade and reads at a 2nd. grade level. I guess the teachers at her old school didn't care and would pass her just to get her out of their hair and now she is really behind in her math and reading. Her teachers said that she is really tring but is having a lot of trouble. I love this little girl to death and would do anything to help her. We have though about hooked on phonics but not sure if it would really help. Any suggestion?

My 9 year old daughter is struggling terribly in Math class. She has her regular teacher a tutor as well as my husband and I helping her and she still is not grasping basic concepts.

She has trouble doing basic subtration and counting money as well as telling proper time by the minute.

I feel so bad for her, she is trying SO hard and she is so frustrated and just recently told me she felt like a "loser." I quickly dashed all thoughts of her ever being that and praised her for her other amazing qualities and told her that we would do whatever we could to get her the help she needs.

Only trouble is...I am at my wits end as to where to look or what to do for her. No one has given up on her by any means but we are all struggling to find SOMETHING to help her be more confident and accurate in her Math skills.

ANY and ALL help here would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you so much for your time.

:)

I'm a first year teacher. When I notice that a student is starting to fall behind in work or failing exams, etc., I send a note home that states what is going on. My school does not have progress reports, so this is not an option, and I have 120+ students to care for. I just had a few parent/teacher conferences where parents yelled at me for failing their children and said that I should have called them to tell them what was going on with their child. I was very upset about this, because I really do my best for each child, and I thought a note home about their progress would be sufficient. I realize some students may not give the note to their parents, but I feel like it is the parent's responsibility to check up on their child after school, not mine. I already work 14+ hours a day. I'm just wondering if other parents feel that these parents were justified in yelling at me for not calling them when I did send a note home about their child's progress.
