So that you can ask questions such as this. You are exercising your brain and forming sentences. If you were uneducated and not forced to go to school, it's likely that you wouldn't be here right now to ask this question because you wouldn't be able to read what to do online and how to ask the questions.

Continued education beyond elementary education helps to prepare you more for the real world, getting up in the morning, going to school, being disciplined enough to last an entire day at school or work is very important to success in life.

I think we should all be luck that we had summers off while going to school, let's think of the positives.

The short answer? Because the rest of us judge you by the school you _finish_.

I won't bore you with the standard "stay in school" speech. Or the legal "parents can go to jail if kids dont go to school" dodge.

The ugly truth is a person's education has more to do with that person's family -- money, connections, and commitment to teaching the young. So the rest of the world looks at your schooling (which expensive private school/college did you go to, for example) to guess at your experience, family, knowledge, and money.

Ask the people at the fast food places "where did you go to college" and you might find many don't. Ask the rich lawyers and doctors and they will proudly tell you about the (expensive) schools where they studied hard and partied.

The examples like Mr. Dell and Mr. Gates who did not finish college and are still rich, these examples only tell us not to give up if we fail school.

Finally, you want to educate yourself and learn all you can, all your life. To try that makes you someone good to talk to. To actually do that makes you somebody _everyone_ want to talk to. To do that really well earns you respect.

So that we are not complete morons. School gives us the very basics but I believe its useless if you do not plan to go to college after 9th grade. If you do plan to go to college a large portion of high school is still useless but it can at least prep you for college. I dropped out with at the 10th grade level and I now go to the University of Cincinnati after I got my GED. I would recommend getting a GED after 9th grade and going right into college. There is nothing you could possibly learn after 9th grade in high school that would have any significant impact on your life, except for meeting new friends/girl/boyfriend. You can just learn the courses you otherwise would in school only in college and get college credit for it. Now thats smart.

It is because we are suppose to be getting an education, but when I was in school the teachers didn't really care to teach all that much so the whole education went down the drain really.

If you actually pay attention at school - it is to skill you for life! If you dont then it is a place your parents send you cos they have to! It is law. Up to you really. We teach all of you - only some of you bother to learn. Those ones get the jobs, houses, cars - the rest of you rely on welfare - but at least you have learnt how to fill the forms in! We teach you that!!!
