I think that students in K-2 should be forced to take all clases like music art and gym but I think after that the kids should decide if they want to do those classes.

If I could change the school system I would change everything about it! Starting by having girls and boys separate, just like in other countries, that would prevent a lot of problems such as pregnancy. etc...

I disagree. As far as gym, I was one of the fat kids in the class, but I'm still happy I was "forced" to participate in gym. This is one of the few times kids exercise. Art is a pathway into the imagination and creativity. Too many children today lack creativity and unique ideas. This is going to decrease inventions and breakthroughs in the future. If we don't encourage kids now to use that part of the brain that is so important it will be too late when their older.

I think they should be forced to take those classes. Art music and gym are just as important as math and writing, and since kids have to take math and writing they should have to take art music and gym as well. However, in middle school and high school you get to choose your electives so even if they cant in grade school they will be able to choose later on in life.

There is a reason children of all ages need a well-rounded education, including art, gym and music (Bach is very mathematical). For starters, so they know the proper way to use 'what' and 'how' in a sentence and so they catch silly typos like 'dose.'
Maybe kids should go to school year-round.
