School put me in the alternate program, since I've always had bad attendance. It was ok at first, but now I can't stand sitting alone in a cubical with a book and paper all day. It's so isolating, and boring. I've talked alot at lengths to the teachers, and they won't do anything.

I have a learning disablity, and untreated ADD and the school does nothing to help with that. They know I have it. I've been trying to get them to put me on half days, but my dad won't agree to it. I've already missed all the days i'm allowed to miss (on contract with the school) and I haven't gone to school in 5 days. So I'm 5 days over the limit.

I want to drop schoo so badly. If I already don't get kicked out when I go back tomorrow. I have enough credits to get a secondary school certificate, and I know eventually I will go back and finish, or get my GED. I just got promoted to manager at work, steady job and I'm almost 18.

How do I convince my dad that that this is a good idea?

I just failed my first semester of college. I got a full schlarship because of my 29 on my ACT but I just didnt care. I am going back next semester but I was wondering how I can get motivated again because it seems like at the time I dont care and now I do.

I don't know if this is typical but I believe my teacher has a pedophelliac tendencies. He's not harming anyone technically but he seems to have an unusual amount of affectionate (or discrete, shall we say) to unaware freshman girls. I've seen this repeatedly when I stay during lunch in his class, he usually sits with a girl, typically instructing her what to do and talking very softly. Today wasn't any special, I stayed after school and I witnessed him showing an abnormal display of affection on this girl who was correcting papers. He kept constantly joking around and laid his hand on her shoulder. I don't know if this is a legitimate reason to believe he's a pedophellic but he got kicked off from being the swim team's coach over a few ago and he's rumored to be a pervert.

i've been teaching the concept of push and pull to first graders. apparently, they have not mastered the skill yet. if i do an action, they know what force i'm using, but they can't think of other things that we can push, and pull if they're independently working by themselves. HELP! what do i do? i've tried manipulatives but it's obvious that the concept has not been fully comprehended.

Around a month or so ago, my teacher, mother, school Principal, and I had a meeting surrounding a little incident. I am not going to go into detail what the situation was about, but ever since... she has been taking off a lot of points off of my essays, etc. For instance, on one of my assignments, we had to write an essay about so-and-so, and she takes off FIVE points off of my writing because ONE tiny mistake. My papers are absolutely flawless, but she finds the smallest issues, say like I put "me" in paragraph one. Because of that, she takes off another five points! On most of my assignments, I have received a low A (so I calculated), but I get my report card and it says, "C". What the hell? I only time that I got a grade lower than a A, was on my book report... which was a C.
What should I do? My mother thought after the meeting that I should change classes because she assumed that my teacher wasn't happy about the meeting. Help?!

im kinda like " the know it all in my class and i get made fun of a lot i try to not let i effect me but it does and somtime i wish i was like evernone eles and stuff like i would sit donw for luch at a school talbe and then i would go get lunch to find out that a pouler kid had came and took my spot.

Did anyone watch Oprah today, The Challege day at a high school out side of Detroit? I think that was the best show I have seen, real quick it was about jrs, and srs. admitting what is going on in their lives and bullys coming out saying they were bullys or name callers, in the end there was not one dry eye, it was really up lifting. Go on her website and read all about it. More schools should adopt this same program. It really makes you think even if your a teacher etc...let me know what you thought. Have a wonderful day.
