And my principal said "If I don't pull them up,I'll get held back!" What should i do? My friends are helping me,but i just don't get it.

It will be character day at school (where all the teachers and pupils dress up as an character), and it would be nice for an ethic/afro-caribbean teacher to represent....!

All we can seem to come up with is Pochahontas again this year..surely there are more?

i got really bad grades on my report card.. and my moms ganna freak about it. when my brother gets PERFECT A'S ALL THE TIME. and he's like a 5th grader and im in 7th and she expects me to get all A's?!?!? this is what i got. i know it might not seem bad, but this is terrible to her.

Honors Reading: C+ (omgomg)
Honors LA: A
Science: B+
Gym: A
History: A
Band: B+

I just want to know if its a good gpa for a ninth grader. My gpa is 4.5 weighted. and 3.5 unweighted? Could getting B's lower my Gpa once i reach 12 grade.

The nictoine will get to you , the students will get pist off cause they don;t have a ciggerate in a certain period of time. If teens would be able to smoke at their high school their wont be so many fights

I've asked here before about this subject - and I need some more advice.

My 10 year old boy is being systematically bullied at school by quite a few different children - but 2 in particular. It's bullying of the worst kind - kicking, punching, name calling etc. Every day after school he has a new bruise to show me.

I wrote a formal letter of complaint to the head, and then went in for a meeting with her, the class teacher and the deputy. Of course, they were very sympathetic etc - but that doesn't get us very far.

Today I was stopped at the gates by a mum who told me that she'd just had to rescue my Jack who was lying on the ground being kicked by two boys. She told me that she was so upset by what she'd seen that she felt close to tears.

This school has a "no blame policy" and as far as I can tell, there are no punishments either - just a telling off, which does no good at all.

I'm at my wit's end - what do I do? Can I inform the police - and if I do, will they act?

im an afterschool care leader that recently transferred to another school and now instead of 5th graders i have 2nd graders to look after.
unfortunately, they had a after care leader that let them do whatever they want. tomorrow is my first day alone with them and i would like to set some rules....what are good ideas for getting them quiet during hw time?

for example:

flicker the lights on and off...

etc...

any ideas?

On Myspace and indeed this site too. I see stupid spelling mistakes and capitals in the middle of words!! When did it become cool to appear uneducated? And do these kids spell like that at school?

HELP!!! I am in a seriously bad situation. I missed 4 years of high school and missed ALL the work/got VERY behind in it all.I got G grades in my GCSE exams as a consequence (apart from D/C in English) I am really scared. also...my parents don't look after me properly...I don't have a clue how to catch a bus,how to use a washing machine,cook, etc...because no-one ever has or will teach me. I am practically a cripple.
Hw can I fix my education? I am really scared. I have tried looking at GCSE courses in college...but I have a problem in that I wouldnt have a clue how to put a programme of GCSEs together....also the curses only cover work from the last two years of high school..so how on earth can I possibly understand the courses ?(since I missed years of work/about 4 years of high school/not just 2 years)
I'm scared. even if I did manage to find a way to do the GCSEs......how would I learn what a cv was (no-one at home will help) or how to learn to cook, or basic skills.HELP!!!

A student in my class has been getting on my nerves since september, he always bumps into me and shoves my stuff on the floor and complaines about how I have the same shirt as him.
