Primary & Secondary Education - November 2006

This is my first semster at college. I did the stuip stuff and drop out of high school and every thing eles that goes alone with that. I have went back and gotten my ged now i am enrolled in college. This is my first semster and I think It will be my last. I thnk I am to old to be in college( especailly a community college) I am thinking about leaving college and just going to get a job. I just feel so bad being so old in a class room full of 18 and 20 year olds. Does anyone have any advice that could help my sistuation.

My 13 yr old daughter was made to do the Bleep Test even though she has a heart condition. I have looked it up on the net and apparently is used by Armed Forces as part of their selection process so is obviously physically very tough. I wondered if anyone has ever known this test be used in schools and if their kids have participated? Incidentally I am complaining to the school tomorrow and need to know as much as possible. I'm so freakin scared to go to high school! The high school I'm attending next year is crazy. 35% of the kids there have aids and HIV and there are always fight and one time...I hear a rumor that a kids was murdered there but thats stupid because if it was true...it would be on the news and thats a rumor.

But.....they do sell drugs there and I'm scared of peer pressure and everything!Last year....they shuted down the school because they THOUGHT someone had a gun. What should I do???? I cant go to another high school either.

I ride a bus and the driver played an offensive song and I yelled turn that s**t off when i had asked times before to turn it off i got in trouble and i was in tears by the song yet she didn't turn it. This bus sucks I don't know what to do. I've tried head phones for other problems yet i can hear the music even with my head phones full blast plz help

Downtown MiniMart Robbed !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night at 10:34 Pm.The Downtown Get In Get Out was robbed by what appeared to be three teen males.They took over $500 in cash out of the cash register.They were seen running from the get in get out at around 10:39Pm The get away car was a 2004 Nissan Altima it was black. The suspects were latter taken into cusstudy by the Dallas police departmant. They were latter realesed they had the wrong people. Again the suspects were described to us as all males all short one has blonde hair the other two have brown hair. I hope they go to jail, I can gurante they will be brought to justice.

Ok.. so im reading this short story for school. The story skips around throughout the story...It tells about the present day then goes into what is going to happen in the future.. But the reader only knows what happens in the future..

How come the author writes his/her story like that? Why does it skip back and fourth from the present day to the future and back to the present day? Please help..

when you know it's a homework question? When I was in school that was considered cheating, you are suppose to do your own homework. I just read one that was a math problem requesting the answer plus all the work. Does anyone else think this is wrong? How educated will our youth become if no one is doing their own work? I'm all for getting help but straight copying the answer from someone else..is wrong.

I am going to school with the goal of becoming a high school teacher. Yet everyone who asks what I am going to school for automatically discourages me when I say a high school teacher. They tell me how bad and how hard it is, yet I feel like no one wants to teach older kids and give them the time they need. I do not want to teach primary because I don't work well with the little ones but everyone keeps telling me to teach elementary. Can someone please give me some information or advice on what high school teaching is like? I'm getting kind of upset of constantly being discouraged.

about two hours are given for an exam in my school. we sit in a big hall. i usually, and everyone usually finishes before that. iam much quicker. problem is that loads more time is left, sometimes upto 45 minutes. that is like hell. i go through my paper again and again to fing faults. done. then what to do? no phones allowed, no newspaper allowed, obviously they aren't allowed. so what do you think i can do in that mean time with nothing in hands and idle?

I am in a situation. Besides being in a new locale, I have a student who has difficulty reading. He lacks phonetic skills or word attack. He was placed in a vocational class with two other students and I was doing fine. However, the drama has intensified and I am expected to teach the vocational class at the same time as a class that is preparing for a national examination in May 2007. The student with difficulty reading is a sharp thinker so he is not stupid. He can provide answers when everyone else is stumped. I found a Hooked on Phonic kit but the first tape (sides 1 and 2) and the first book is missing. I do not have the SRA or reading cards that come with the kit. My sister got the kit before she died and she has been dead for nine years. I do not have the money to buy a new kit nor skills in phonics; and I need some suggestions. Right now I am doing my best but this school is exam results oriented. Help!
