Let's put it this way. I am pretty experienced in my career. I see rookie come into my firm making more than what I started at because they have a piece of paper. It really works. Its the fastest way to make more money, period (at least in the copr world). Also, dont forget the vast resources open to people in school. Lots of networking, social skill development, free libraries, educated scholars for advice.

good education is very very important to succeed in life. Surveys after survey show that high school grads make less money than the college grads, and the 4 year college grads make less than the doctorate degree holders. Unless your kids have an IQ of Bill Gates and also the luck, I would say they should go into higher studies.

The example I used for my nephew was....."I've been in the military for 20 years, I make this much money....this is the payscale for a ensign....he makes as much as I do in the first year...the difference? I didn't go to college and he did". Sadly it didn't work, My nephew didn't even graduate High school.....now he works for my brother in law for 7 bucks an hour
