Ok.. so im reading this short story for school. The story skips around throughout the story...It tells about the present day then goes into what is going to happen in the future.. But the reader only knows what happens in the future..

How come the author writes his/her story like that? Why does it skip back and fourth from the present day to the future and back to the present day? Please help..

it adds suspension to the story so that you will think it is a good story and you might tell your friends about it and then they will go and buy the book so that the author gets more money. so really its just to get more money. but isn't that what every jobs is for.

prob to explain what is happening in the present so it will help you understand the future, look for connections and symbolism
