about two hours are given for an exam in my school. we sit in a big hall. i usually, and everyone usually finishes before that. iam much quicker. problem is that loads more time is left, sometimes upto 45 minutes. that is like hell. i go through my paper again and again to fing faults. done. then what to do? no phones allowed, no newspaper allowed, obviously they aren't allowed. so what do you think i can do in that mean time with nothing in hands and idle?

When doin' my exams I could leave but i assume you can't do that... Plan your work & take as long as you can to ensure it's the best you can write? After that, drawin' on desk/engravin' your desk with a compass is prob ther best way to pass the time.

If you've got that long left, two things are happening: a) you know the subject so well, you'll get an A or b) you've failed.
You will not get the required marks in so short a time unless you are a genius so be prepared to re-sit the exam later.
I now have a degree, the only time I ever had that amount of time in an exam was when I'd been wrongly entered for the wrong level at secondary school.
I was so bored I translated the passage I had to answer into Latin. That passed a lot of the time.

Most examination moderators allow you to bring a book along, though it is unusual for you to have to remain in the hall once you have completed the exam. Usually, you finish, you leave. But since you cannot leave, you might inquire if they will allow a fiction book, nothing that has anything to do with the exams and let you read. If you are allowed scratch paper and a pencil you can make up your own word games to kill time until you are released. Magazines are not allowed, nor are newspapers because they make noise when pages are turned or flipped to the next section. Books are silent, might want to inquire about books. Hope that helps.

Learn to meditate before you do more exams - though that's never easy because our own minds can be our best friends and our own worst enemies. Failing that just put your head down and try to nap.. If you have another exam soon, try running possible answers to probable questions. Play a game asking yourself and answering questions. Or... day dream. Whatever you do - good luck and remember the preparation is everything.

Cant you wear some earphones for an mp3 player or similar? You also usually get a blank sheet at the end of the paper so you could always doodle or write some poetry?

it's good to look over what you have already answered, but not too much as you say. You could pray that the exam has gone well. You could have a snooze - they're not going to stop you putting your head down I'm sure.I think you should be allowed leave after a certain time. it seems unfair.

When I took my exams and I finished them before time I asked if I could go home unless I had another class that day.

well duh! i do this ALOT and have had many examanations ripped up because of my comunication with other members. so what i do now is pick my least favourtite person(s) out and think about whats goin on in their head i hope their strugglin on the easiest of questions and (this only really helps if u actually hate the person) then you imagine them getting a REALLY low mark! i no it sounds stupid and childish but it takes ages to remember the question (you're not aloud to flick back through the workbook) that they apparently get wrong and then the score and if they get held back a year and if they do what teachers the form ect...

i hope it helps!!

you should be able to inform the invigilator that you have finished and leave.
If you are unable to leave-then use the time to reflect on life and what a party you will have when the exams are over.
Congratulations on getting this far.
