My 10 year old daughter has a school project on the tongue and all the info I'm finding is way too difficult for her to understand. So, if you have any information you can share or websites it would be wonderful!

Get a big piece of foam, like from an old thick couch cushion, shape it with a knife, be careful. Take thin tissue paper like you find in gift boxes, dip it in some well diluted Elmer's glue and just stick it on there in layers. Paint it kinda pink make bumps in certain places on the tongue you are going to talk about, by layering more paper. It is fast and easy. Just need to dry in all night with a fan.
Wish I was there I'd do it for you, I love that kinda stuff.

The back of your tounge has bitter taste buds, the sides have salty and sugary taste buds, and that's all i know. OH! and that it's the most powerful muscle in your whole body.
