Around a month or so ago, my teacher, mother, school Principal, and I had a meeting surrounding a little incident. I am not going to go into detail what the situation was about, but ever since... she has been taking off a lot of points off of my essays, etc. For instance, on one of my assignments, we had to write an essay about so-and-so, and she takes off FIVE points off of my writing because ONE tiny mistake. My papers are absolutely flawless, but she finds the smallest issues, say like I put "me" in paragraph one. Because of that, she takes off another five points! On most of my assignments, I have received a low A (so I calculated), but I get my report card and it says, "C". What the hell? I only time that I got a grade lower than a A, was on my book report... which was a C.
What should I do? My mother thought after the meeting that I should change classes because she assumed that my teacher wasn't happy about the meeting. Help?!

She also rolled her eyes at me when her friend (another teacher, a guy obviously) started talking to me while she was conversing with him.

I also should mention that she keeps saying that my work is late, when it isn't!!!

I agree with your mother. If your teacher is out to get you there is very little that you can do about it. Go to the principal and say that you have a personality clash with the teacher and would prefer to be moved to another class. There are laws that prohibit him from discussing this request with the teacher so from a technical standpoint you should be able to push the request through without the teacher ever knowing how or why it was done. Then the only issue you will face is whether you are put into a class that has a teacher that is influenced by the first teacher.

Teachers can find flaws when there are not any. I should know. I'm a teacher!

You could also try talking to her about her grading system and see if she can justify the grades. If not then you definitely have a motive for placement in a different class.

Teachers shouldn't be this way, yet quite a few of them are. You should go speak to the principal again. Is it also possible you are becoming a bit paranoid? Maybe you are watching for this teacher to get you and maybe she is out to get you. Maybe the incident that happened upset her and now she is punishing you personally.

If you can switch, do it now. This problem is not going to go away, and this lady obviously has some issues. It may not even be about you, she just needs someone to pick on, and YOU are the target. Distance yourself from her, she is not worth your time...and change teachers.

Remember Eleanor Roosevelt and he quote: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." I live by it every day.

Go to the principal again. Show him/her your essay, and make sure you are able to prove points (using the rubric, if one was provided) that you earned yourself a higher grade.
