I'm thinking about going back to school and expand my education some. I want to know some good paying career fields that only require an associates degree. With the cost of living these days I can only afford a 2yr degree at the moment. Annual salary info and website links would be very helpful. Thanks for all your answers and help!

This is my question: Once you reach your "unit ceiling" (the max number of class units your University allows you to take on your first visit and stay at the University), is it possible to petition to them to let you take more units or to leave for a certain period of time and come back shortly after to take more classes?

If you need further clarification, then please let me know, thanks.

I was flipping through my cousin's CosmoGirl! magazine, and I was reading through their 100 best colleges, seeing as I'll be heading to college next year. In here, it says that Stephens College in Columbia, MO, has dorms where you can have cats and dogs. Are there any colleges like that in Indiana? I haven't been able to find much information about that, and this would be great because I guess I almost need a furry companion. I can't remember I time where I haven't had a cat or a dog!

My daughter is really smart. She got a 1590 (Math and Reading) on her SAT and a 3.9 GPA. Well, she graduated at the top of her class and was valevictorian of her grade. She applied to many colleges and was accepted to Yale University. I could not get any scholarships for her and I cannot get student loans because my credit score is horrible because I lied that I was bankrupted to save my cash and stuff. I am no rich at all. I cannot afford it and cannot get a loan because I got into trouble with the bank manager, falsely sued him for "hitting" my car. What should I do? I don't know if I should have my daughter go to college or not? She wants to go and go to its Medical School....jeeze, I'm gonna be dirt poor when she' done with schooling. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While in high school I was in many activities and an AP student. I was a member of Whose Who in American High School Students, the National Honor Roll, as well as a National Merit Award nominee in field of Language Arts. In college I managed to receive good grades, however due to absences I only passed one class (I only went for one semester). The reason for this was depression which I saw a psychologist for. However, I was placed on academic suspension for one year. I no longer wish to go back to the same school, and due to my now greatly decreased GPA can't get into any school to my knowledge. I know community college is an option but my community college doesn't offer financial aid to students that don't pursue an Associates Degree. Also my local community college has bad professors and reputation. Is there any school that would accept me with my status or would I have to go to community college (I have no problem going if I have to).

Which science major is the easiest to get into when applying as a freshman?

My major is Mass Communications and I'm transferring to UCSD for next fall semester 2008.

I don't know which college I'm supposed to apply to and even though I'm looking at the site right this instant about all the different colleges...it doesn't tell me anything!

I don't know where to look for that information. I just want to look for what majors fall into which colleges.

I know there's no Mass Communications major at UCSD, so Communications is just fine...I just really want to know which college that's in.

Thanks so much!

I just started my first semester at community college, just taking gen ed classes until I transfer. The thing is...I HATE school. I can't concentrate on any of the writing assignments for English. And my math teacher...nice guy, but being from Africa, I can hardly understand a thing that's going on in that class! I knew this wasn't gonna be a walk in the park, but every day I go to college I wish I could be back in high school.

I was writing a critical essay about my favorite teacher in my college course. When I was talking about this particular teacher I said this. "I just couldn't handle being the slowest reader in the class. My libido has been exposed.".... My current prof handed me back my essay with libido underlined and a smiley face there asking "Are you sure this is the word you want to use." I haven't been this embarassed in a while, I dont know what the hell I was thinking when typing it. How do I patch things up?

This isn't for me, but it's for my friends, see they think that if you have all A's you can get into pretty much any college of choice.
We all know they're wrong.
But can you guys tell me what a applicant would need?
i.e. grade, test scores...

Also, is community service neccessary?
If so how many hours over your high school career?
10 points if complete.

I'm currently sophomore at high school in Illinois.
I'm Japanese and I've been living in the U.S. for 3 years so far. I am thinking going to the university in the U.S.
The goal is to attend Stanford U, or Northwestern U. U. of University of Illinois @ Urbana Champain.

Here are about my transcript so far

GPA 3.8 out of 4
Boys Varsity tennis from freshman year
A manager for girls tennis from freshman year
In school newspaper club
I went to 2 People To People trip (Europe) and summit (Stanford University).
I take AP and accelerated classes
In BPA (Business Professional of America)
(Next year NHS probably)

I haven't take SAT or ACT yet.

Since I am Japanese, it is my first, English as my 2nd, and Spanish as my 3rd language. I believe I am a minority for the admission for the college. I still learn Japanese language at Japanese school and I am really good at it.

I want to know what I should prepare before graduating high school, and please suggest me any advice.

I am enjoying school!
