im an in state resident, i have a 3.2 gpa (working on bringing that up), i have a 1640 SAT score (working on bringing that up as well), im in medical club (the only club i've joined so far...im a junior in high school), i've been to the UK for three weeks with a group of students and have gotten a bit of credit for that (people to people program...don't know if you've heard of it?). im currently taking a language course at UNC for high school credit.

what do you think?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but 98% of the students they admitted this year had GPAs of 3.25 or above! Add to that the fact that your SAT score isn't terribly strong and you don't seem to have a lot of extracurriculars, and I'm afraid that it just isn't very likely. You can certainly apply, but please have some good back-up schools on tap.

I assume that 1640 SAT is out of 2400? Ouch! You need to take a course and get a great score!
UNC wants at least a 1300 on math+verbal.

Add an academic club and leadership in a social club for extra credit, as UNC only admits about 35% of applicants.

UVA is slightly harder - reliable extracurriculuars can help, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that. for the duration of your senior year - attempt to branch out and do some extra extras if possible - student government, etc. you're able to be ok for UNC and Tech
