So I am a high school student and have questions about recommendation letters. I am planning to go to a University college, and I was wondering if they need letters of recommendation. Also, how should I obtain letters of recommendation, and how am I suppose to send them to a college? If someone can tell me all the necessary steps that would be greatly appreciated.

For example, is a Computer engineer with a 3.5 worth as much to a law school admissions board as much as an Art History major with a 3.7 (assuming they have the same LSAT score)

Joining the Army sounds like I might enjoy it more than college, but if i join the army, i won't be able to have a family which is high on my to-do list (after school, of course) i would do law enforcement, but i can't stand cops, so i'm at a dead end here. Everything that sounds fun has major drawbacks. I've been in some trouble, and my grades aren't all that good, so i don't even know if i'll get any scholorships to college. What should my next step be?

If one were to look at the show “Criss Angel Mindfreak”, one would find that it appeals to the audience is several ways, has a unique relationship with not only the participates but also the viewers, not only has positive messages but negative ones as well, and that if one were only watched this show would expect the world to be based off of magic.

my SAT scores. On the last practice test I took, I got a 1990/2400. I feel so depressed. I want to improve it to at least a 2250 by June of 07 so, what should I do?

What is the most effective, convenient, and fool-proof way of shooting my SAT score up?

Also, should I try taking the ACT too just to see what I would get? I heard from someone that that test was easier.

If you take a diploma from a college, and you want to go back to that college almost 20 years later to get a bachelors degree, will the credits that you already received usually still count, or do they expire? Also, since I already have a diploma from the school, is it possible that those credits are used up and cannot be reused for a new degree? Thanks much!

You might want to re-think your decision about going to Manhattan College. My brother is currently enrolled there as a freshman and has regretted every day. The school is really not that convenient to Manhattan and most of the kids that go there are commuting students or from the Long-Island area (not great for out of state kids, but could be up your ally). The food there is awful and the dorms leave something to be desired (although all freshmen dorms in any college are not that great). Probably the worst part about Manhattan College though is the unresponsive guidance counselors and the RA's who make life more of a living hell than anything else. Most RA's at the school are intensely political and show favoritism towards their residents, to the point of picking on certain residents for infractions that were never actually conducted.

If he could do it all over again my brother would have gone to NYU, and I can see why after visiting Manhattan College myself.
