In order to get your true GPA, you need to look at all the classes you've taken to date and make the following table

#Units_____Grade_____Total

For every class you've taken, you need to determine what the number of units that indivdual class was worth, and the GPA for that class. Multiply the units by the grade using the 4 point system, and put the result in the total column. This includes the last semester.

Add up the Total column, then divide by the TOTAL number of units (add up the Units column). The result will be your running GPA.

If you need a 2.6 FOR THIS SEMESTER ONLY and all the classes are worth the same number of units (say 4), then all you have to do is add up the points and divide by the number of classes. So you would have (3*3 + 0)/4 = 9/4 = 2.25.

If this was your first semester, and your 2.25 is you total GPA, then you need to get all Bs to say in school next semester, if you aren't kicked out this semseter. That will give you a 2.75. If you've had other bad semsters you'll have to make the table to figure out how well you have to do.

GPA stands for Grade Point Average. If you need a 2.6GPA to stay in school, I would try for an A average (4.0) next "marking period." A 4.0GPA averaged with a 2.0GPA will give you a 3.0GPA. Ask your councilor if you can take the "F" class over or work for extra credit.

Try searching for a GPA calculator online or even try your school website. My university has one.

You have to get all A's in at least four classes. Keep your head up and in the books.. You can do it!
