We have an older TV that we're not using (just got a new one)...it's an Emerson. Has no remote...the tv still works but the color is going. Is there any alternative to just pitching it or putting it out by the road? Can it be recycled? I'd hate to toss it if there was a better use for it. Any suggestions?

i just moved into a new apt where they supply "free" cable. i pay for comcast (which has more channels). however, when i run the cable thru the vcr it chooses the apts cable instead of comcast. how do i get it to choose the other one?

i have to run the cable thru the vcr bc the input on the back of my big screen doesnt receive the signal.

I'm thinking of getting one at the end of the year and I've seen it at Wal-Mart, but frankly I'm not really impressed. The picture looked sort of blurry but the sales lady said that was because it was hooked up to a satellite and they didn't really adjust it. I've also seen LCD TV's and they don't really look to great either. Infact my 5 year old Phillips 27" looks just as good or better than both the plasma & LCD. This is the next step in TV? What am I missing?

I've read some articles that said if you were watching non-HD channels with an HDTV, your picture quality will actually look worse than on a standard TV because the HDTV brings out the "clarity" of the lower quality images (hope that wasn't confusing). Is this true?

Also, would the image quality be reduced if I was watching a 720p program on a 1080i/1080p HDTV (native res)? What about if I was watching 1080i programs on a 720p? Would the image quality suffer?

I had only an indoor antenna on my TV but i got a few channels only. I don't need to apply from any cable company to get more signals and pay a monthly charge for it. Pls. give me some suggestion.

when I have the antenna to begin with? I had my dish professionally installed so I don't think it's hooked up wrong. I probably need a booster.

I have a freeview box and want to maximise my signal. At presant i have it running off a normal roof arial. If i plugged it up to the old satilite dish on my house, whould it work ?I ask because if a freeview picks up a satilite signal through a normal arial which is only ment for terrestrial signal, then surely it would pick up a better signal through a satilite dish which is ment to capture a satilite signal..
