They will cost less and because they will build more and they will become cheaper to make. Also the LCD's that cost the most now are the new 1080p and very large. In a couple of years they will be common place like the way a 40 inch lcd is now. I remember when samsung was the first to make a 40" lcd. It looked bad and cost around 5000. That was about 2 years ago. Sharp was also making a 37" which looked beautiful but cost over 4000. Today both these TVs are common and cost so much less. There are no new technologies out yet that will have any impact in a few years. SED's and OLED will probably be passed by because of the falling prices of the lcds and Plasmas. A year ago they were looking good because they offered a bigger screen for less money and they looked better, but LCD's have gotten better by leaps and bounds to the point where a new technology can't compete. The SED was available at the last ces but new was released that it might not be available for a couple of years because they would have to figure out an efficient manufacturing process. Manufactures have invested way to much to allow a new technology to change the landscape.

I have a neighbor that works as an extremely high executive at video only and he says that the prices will be AT LEAST half of what they are now OR LESS in two years due to overproduction.

The prices would be even lower driven not only by competition but also better manufacturing standards which will not only cut down the time taken but the reach of the markets too

Yes, because newer technologies are constantly being invented.
LCD's are being replaced with better, faster switching LED's, OLED's, and DLP's.
Here is a 3 year old article testing the differences between LCD's and DLP's. http://www.projectorcentral.com/lcd_dlp_test.htm

They will cost the same as today.
They will make them of higher quality and neater features and they will not sell the earlier models because they wouldn't be able to sell any for the inflated price.
This is what they did for digital cameras anyway...
