Yes. Overall, CRT is *still* the best technology when it comes to picture quality; its only major downside, really, is its bulk. Plasma's, LCD's, DLP's, and other imaging technology are gaining popularity because of large screen sizes and flat(ter) profiles, but each technology still, generally, gets its size and flatness at a compromise--poorer contrast ratios, smaller viewing angles, poorer response, shorter working life, and so on.

There's a display technology being developed called SED that aims to provide CRT quality at a Plasma-sized form factor, but it has yet to reach the market.

Both technology has its pros and cons. CRT will give you better black levels, while LCD has a brighter picture.
