i have a dish network receiver that has duel connections. the upstairs room is connected to the receiver in the bedroom.

upstairs there is only a coaxial connection to hook into the tv, which was fine when the old tv had a coaxial jack in the back.

the new tv upstairs is a plasma display and it doesnt have any coaxial plug in the back!? only the regular a/v jacks for various components.

so how the heck am i supposed to hook the coaxial into this tv?! or my stereo?!

i bought an RF modulator but they only work the other way around (if your tv has a coaxial and you need to hook something like a dvd player with only a/v connections)

would an old VCR work? plug the coax into the vcr and the vcr into the tv!?!?

Do you think this will make a big difference in how the picture will look???

Hitachi says....By doubling the frequency from 60 to 120 Hz and inserting a black frame between image frames, Hitachi has significantly improved the ability of the LCD flat panel television to reproduce sharp, realistic rapid motion.

They have this on their new TV's??? I dont know how the HZ effect picture resolution....Do you????

My tv is almost 13 years old.
When the tv is turned on the screen is solid red with brighter red lines running almost horizontally through it. The actual tv picture barely can be seen behind the red. This started a few days ago. At first, the tv would go back to a normal picture with a couple minutes. Today it took 15 minutes and the picture goes back and forth from red screen to normal at random, but it is mostly in the red zone. When the normal picture is visible the color is absolutely fine, and there are no problems of any sort.
Does this mean that my picture tube is going/gone or is this something that can be fixed for an amount that is worth sinking into a television this old?

May be this info helps: My TV does not turn on directly, when I switch it on it goes to stand by mode and from there I have to turn it on by pressing any key.

I just about decided to buy the Sony 46" xrb tv, but found the forums on Comsumer Report and some are saying that there is "cloudness" on Sony TV. Has anyone here had any problems with it? Everything else sounds fine on this TV and I like the idea of 3 HDMI. The forums also say that the people have really had trouble getting anyone (the store they bought from and especially Sony) to fix or replace the set. Does anyone have any sugestion of a better set if they have had this problem? Thank you
