You need a DVD with picture calibration test images.
You can buy "Video Essentials" for about $20 or the
Monster/ISF HDTV Calibration Wizard (about $18 from Amazon)
There are a few more alternatives as well.

Or check your DVDs. If in the back you see the "THX Optimizer" Logo (Star Wars or Finding Nemo (Delux Edition) have it), then that DVD has all you need for basic picture adjustments in a self-guide Guide. (Follow the instructions in the THX Optimizer menu)

Color Temperature is very a personal choice. "Warm" has a reddish tint (close to movie theaters) and "Cold" has a bluish tint. Use "Standard" and you should be OK.

Avoid "Vivid" settings, since the screen is usually way too bright. (Used mostly for store displays)

Depends on the particular model - suggest you visit their website for details. Alternativly return the unit to its factory settings.

Depends on the location of the screen, viewing angle, size of the room, and light sources. best just to adjust it point by point until you reach an exceptable level. As everyone has different preferences.

Good luck with it though. :)
