I recently purchased a televsion from circut city. The sales representative told me that I needed to purchase a 5 year extended warranty because the television may malfunction in 5 years. Now, I worked for a former electronics shop (Radio Shack, and now I do legal services), and I remember we use to sell those extended plans for extra money in our pockets. I didnt think back then it was needed, and I dont think now it is needed. But the way technology is today, would it be neded for a flat panel LCD Television?

I just bought an old 36" tube TV, and I noticed that whenver the camera pans, the image slightly breaks up into horizontal lines.
It's not bad, just annoying.

Is there a name for this?

Is this an issue with all tube TVs of this size?

Is there a setting I can change to fix this?

Okay, so my 720p/1080i 32 inch lcd tv does not support dvi from pc or hdmi via dvi from my pc. So there are 2 avaliable connection options from what i can gather. One is s-video which i have used until this point and its limitations are quite apparent. The other that my tv says it can do is something called d-sub, so my question is which is better? the d-sub or s-video? and if one is better why(just curious)? and if d-sub is better do i need a male/male or male/female (i think its male/male)? .thank you to anyone who is patient enough to read this whole thing and help me with any or all of these questions ;)

I was told it might be the "transformer" but not sure. Does anyone else know what else it might be and how much it would cost to fix? Thank you.

Plasma tvs cost a small fortune. But of course all the popular kids are in debt up to their eye balls. Maybe a awesome picture out weights the cost.

We bought a house with a roof antenna and here in Cali we all have cable, so this sounds like a ridiculous question, but does the antenna cable if hooked up to the existing cable line run a strong enough signal to run through the cable lines and give 4 TV's signals through the cable lines?

Here's what's happening: He has an HDTV cable box, with HD tuner installed. When you run the setup on the cable box, it says it's prepared to display all resolutions, including 1080i. Then, the HD channels work perfectly, in 1080i.

Then, when you switch inputs on the TV (say, to the Xbox 360 or DVD player) and then switch back to the cable channels, the TV only displays those HD channels in 480i. Re-running the HD setup on the cable box makes it work again, but switching inputs nullifies it every time.

Any ideas? The cable company has told him that the TV is overriding the cable box in some way, although I'm not sure about this, since when it goes back to 480i it actually says "480i" on the front display of the cable box. In other words, it appears that the TV is still being sent 480i, rather than the TV simply downscaling or something.

Thanks for any help you may have on this one!!!

I am 14 years old and I really want a TV for my room but my parents say I have to buy it and I cannot have directv. I I get this TV http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4926688 and this antenna http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2625059 will I be able to watch channels like 4, 11, 13 and 21? Is it really worth buying? My family has a LOT of DVDs but I don't know if it is really worth spending my birthday money on. Will the channels show up clearly and have clear sound?
Thank you for your time! Also I could play my dreamlife on it.
